A very engaging and entertaining retelling of the 1960 US presidential election with the uncanny parallels to 2016. The author brings an excitement and infectious energy to the topic making this an atypical and timely look at how the US political process has evolved in the late 20th century.

If you liked his previous work The Hard Things about Hard Things, then this is an automatic listen. This work is very practical and immediately useful info on shepherding the culture of organizations of all sizes, with non obvious examples and sources.

The Algebra of Happiness is another excellent work by Professor Scott Galloway. A departure from his first book The Four, this book looks through his personal lens on happiness and how our behavior and attitudes often get in the way of experiencing it in our lives, particularly later in life. Much like Clay Christensen's How Will You Measure Your Life, Professor Galloway models his book on the final lecture from his capstone MBA class. With a heavy dose of snarky and self-effacing humor, the elements of happiness and the barriers to it are told through the painfully frank stories of his life. From growing up in a single parent home to his own divorce and the indignities of supporting a parent through a terminal illness, Professor Galloway offers the advice he feels he most needed as a new graduate in his 20's, both mistakes to avoid and opportunities not to be missed.

Note, this is a short book at 3hrs 35 min, but worth the full price/credit for the insight and the extent Professor Galloway poured of himself in this work. This will make my list of books to highly recommend/gift.

This is a heavy book, and one born out of incredible generosity. Cat Hoke poses the question “What if you were only known for the worse thing you’ve ever done?” as the thread that takes the reader through her story, the story of the incarcerated Entrepreneurs in Training she’s dedicated her life to, and most pointedly to the reader. While Cat amazing work at he nonprofit Defy Ventures is a lot of he story, this fundamentally a book about forgiveness and what is can look like in your life. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. Thanks to Cat and Seth Godin for putting this important work in he world.
