Historia
Discover the bottomless, refreshing Well of God’s Word―and experience a fullness and peace beyond your circumstances. In the chaos of our everyday, it can be difficult to live out and apply the truths of Scripture. We want more of Jesus, but we find ourselves looking to our own lives and accomplishments for our worth and identity. And while that may buoy us for a time, we’re often left feeling dried up, discouraged, and longing for more.

Like a friend’s story, not a Bible study.
Revisado: 08-21-24
This book was narrated by the author, which I am a fan of in general. She did well, and seemed passionate, her voice is easy to listen to.
This book is a lot like listening to a friend’s story as you become friends. Each chapter reveals her journey and the traces of mercies that she has seen earth side.
I listened to this because I lead a small ladies study, and hoped this would be the next study. It was a good book, but not a study by any means. It has practical application of Truths as long as you are aware of the Truths.
Overall it was a cute book and will water someone’s soul.

It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily...BUT WHO DO YOU KNOW WHO LIVES LIKE THAT? DO YOU?

Love, but I don’t hear “s”
Revisado: 10-11-23
Really amazing content. Love it. Excited for the challenge. However, in this, if a word ends in “s” it is not audible. So Jesus is Jesu or Leviticus is Levitic. Super frustrating.

Historia
The universal symbol of the Christian faith is neither a crib nor a manger, but a gruesome cross. Yet many people are unclear about its meaning, and cannot understand why Christ had to die. In this magisterial and best-selling book, John Stott explains the significance of Christ's cross and answers the objections commonly brought against biblical teaching on the atonement.

Historia
All emotion - whether positive or negative - can give us a glimpse of the true nature of God. We want to control our negative emotions and dark desires. God wants us to recognize them as the cry of our soul to be made right with Him. Beginning with the Psalms, Cry of the Soul explores what Scripture says about our darker emotions and points us to ways of honoring God as we faithfully embrace the full range of our emotional life.

Do you ever feel a disconnect as a mother—like you’re doing all the "mom things” you’re supposed to do as you stoop to serve your kids with your hands, but your heart isn’t in it? Kristen Wetherell has been there, and instead of offering you a parenting plan, a pep talk, or a list of things to do, her words in Humble Moms offers you exactly what she needs in moments of exhaustion: life-giving and biblical meditations on Jesus, who humbly serves you not only in hand, but in heart.

Historia
Quickly becoming a cornerstone of Holocaust historiography, this is a devastatingly stark memoir from one of the lone survivors of Treblinka. Why do some live while so many others perish? Tiny children, old men, beautiful girls - in the gas chambers of Treblinka, all are equal. The Nazis kept the fires of Treblinka burning night and day, a central cog in the wheel of the Final Solution.

Wonderful
Revisado: 12-30-22
This story is so sad, hard but important to listen to. The narrator is easy to listen to. Some of the recounts are absolutely devastating to listen to, to hear and almost unbelievable. The stories of survivors are eternal through these books, this one is a must listen.

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes.

Great narrator- good storyline- lots of cussing
Revisado: 03-29-22
I didn’t like the narrator at first, but as it went on, I really enjoyed the different voices which were maintained through the book for each character. Words were clear and read at a good speed.
The storyline is good, characters were developed well enough, but still left room for you to get to know them as the series progresses. There is a looming mystery throughout the story and the epilogue really helped out there.
The only downfall in my book is the constant cussing, it is really, truly, a lot of cussing. And sexual references. Though, someone who is less concerned with these things, likely wouldn’t have any hang-ups in this department, it did leave me almost walking away from the book a few times.

Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old Devil to his nephew, Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man.
