The narrator is horrendous. The accent is cringey... it's distracting and grating... I wish she had just did without the accent since she has no idea how to do the Scottish/Irish lilting accent...

A different spin on a sometimes tired genre

Looking forward to the next book in the series! The narrator was excellent! I really enjoyed the different spin on a sometimes tired and repetitive genre. I love zompoc and it's definitely nice to have a totally different origin story.

Best one of the series

So this book was the best in the series! The narrator wasn't my favorite but before the end, she grew on me. In a nutshell, I read/listen to many books from various authors, and while I'm no literary snob, I'm not easily wowed either. This book/story had me in tears at the end....literally. And I mean, tears running down my face, fumbling for a tissue while driving and struggling to compare myself before reaching my destination! Well played, Ms. Druga and Ms. Navarro...well played!

Getting Better

Either the author and narrator are finally finding their groove or I'm just getting used to the styles. It's getting better overall. I've gotten through this far and plan to keep going so it must be working!

On the Fence...

There's definitely potential. There's a decent storyline and an interesting interpretation on a zombie, but the writing style reads like a middleschooler wrote it for class. But that narrator though... he has moments where he starts to engage me and then he either butchers the accent (worst. Australian. accent. ever. not. even. a. little. bit.) or mispronunciates a word, distracting me from the story. Baklava? Really? Oh! You meant balaclava!

Great Story but Narrating "Off"

I know the author has also been the narrator for this series but for whatever reason, I found his performance for this book, particularly lacking. The distinction of characters by their voices were muddied this reading. I was often unsure of who was speaking, unless it was Flex, Hemp or Nels (who are truly distinct). For a good portion of the book, his performance was rather lackluster and drab, sounding almost as if he was bored or depressed. Otherwise, another great installment of the series!
