Breath taking (spoilers)
Revisado: 08-14-24
This is my second book where a Muslim explains in detail the Muslim faith and protocols. Yet somehow these two authors overcome the misconceptions of Muslim and convert to Christianity. IMO it confirms my thoughts that the Muslim followers are worship a fake God. That most Muslims convert see to Islam back 610 , radicalization happened that makes the horrific treatment of women and children to be believed that it’s Gods word. It is not Gods word at all.

While the characters are same and the storyline the same, either I’m getting bored with the series or the writing is sub par. The storyline jumps around too much that you need to go back to find where the story line jumped only to learn it did jump with no background.

Historia
This book takes listeners on Dr. Mark Christian’s journey as he tries to prove to himself that Islam is the true religion. It shows the horror he feels as he faces the truth, and it leads to his greatest discovery: Jesus is love, and Jesus is the God he was searching for his entire life. Having now lived and ministered in America for years, he also has a message for America about the dangers we are headed toward based on his intimate knowledge of life in a dictatorial country (Egypt) and what he sees here.

This a very intriguing story told from an Islam perspective. Thoroughly enjoy the comparison between Christianity and Islam. I have gained insight that I was unable to understand for years.

But sometimes it can also mean entry to a new kind of life, a bigger world. Greer Kadetsky is a shy college freshman when she meets the woman she hopes will change her life. Faith Frank, dazzlingly persuasive and elegant at 63, has been a central pillar of the women’s movement for decades, a figure who inspires others to influence the world.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Misled by synopsis
Revisado: 08-04-23
My book club read this book last summer but I didn’t get to it until now. What a mistake. This was an amazing book that tells of true love is not judged by the cover but what’s inside, the prejudices against smart women and family isn’t necessarily related by blood but by their actions. As a divorced mom, this resonated with me as I face símilar struggles in my life and career. I hope my kids are as proud of me as Maddie was of her mom. Elizabeth.

Historia
Weren't women supposed to have "arrived"? Perhaps with the nation's first female president, equal pay on the horizon, true diversity in the workplace to come thereafter? Or at least the end of "fat shaming" and "locker room talk"? Well, we aren't quite there yet. But does that mean that progress for women in business has come to a screeching halt? It's true that the old rules didn't get us as far as we hoped. But we can go the distance, and we can close the gaps that still exist. We just need a new way.

This lush novel, set in 1766 England and America, evokes an era ripe with riot and revolution, from the teeming streets of London to the sprawling grounds of a Virginia plantation. Mack McAsh burns with the desire to escape his life of slavery in Scottish coal mines while Lizzie Hallim is desperate to shed a life of sheltered subjugation to her spineless husband. United in America, their only chance for freedom lies beyond the Western frontier - if they're brave enough to take it.
