Historia
Salvatore's worst nightmare is taking on a demon, but if he wants to stay at Quest Academy, how will he prove to himself and everyone else that he can succeed? He's going to have to take on an entire floor of a demonic tower before the first semester comes to a close. That's the least of Sal's problems as he navigates through his first student mission away from the school. Sal is more comfortable at the crafting table, but he needs to survive in a reclaimed zone outside of the academy with the worst team of misfits you could possibly imagine.

I really like Sal. I agree with some of the other reviewers that he's a flawed character but deeply relatable. But GOD was it hard to listen to any of the pieces with Erica in them, and she's in SO much of the book.

Sad to see this series end, but it was handled perfectly!
Revisado: 04-30-24
I made myself wait for the audiobook for this second book - because the narrator is amazing! - and it was so worth it! I actually listened to the series in its entirety to catch all the little details. I definitely recommend doing so, but it’s not required to fully enjoy this or part one.
This book is just as heavy as part one, but we do finally roll into getting closure on all that’s been going on plus we get Bertram and Sorin’s HEA. These guys are so dang lovely together, especially after all they have to go through. I loved how the authors wove in all our questions from the series; it felt like everything was addressed and how it was handled was very satisfying.
One of my favorite things about this series is the sense of family that’s carefully cultivated throughout and how much everyone comes to care for each other. It was really beautiful in this book! And it was a lot of fun to see all the characters outside of their books and interacting with each other.
What an incredible wrap up to one of my favorite series ever! I can’t recommend these books enough. I actually didn’t like the first book when I initially read it - and it’s my least favorite - but overall this series really is fantastic. I’ve re-read it many times and plan to re-read it again many times more.

On the edge of my seat!
Revisado: 04-30-24
Holy heck, what a fantastic book! But dang does it get heavy. Fair warning that your heart will break for Sorin and Bertram many times over. Sorin’s story (aka Raven) especially is one of pain and trauma and so much sorrow. And we finally get to know Bertram and WOW did I love him. He has a very intense moral code and it’s really put to the test once he meets Sorin. His life is literally changed forever, in both good and bad ways.
Many, many questions from the series are answered in this book and I’m confident the rest will be answered in part two. I was emotionally devastated by the end of part one, but ready to watch these guys find their HEA in part two.
So yeah, be prepared for a very heavy story with lots of trigger warnings!

Historia
Sydney Detective August Shaw has spent the last decade of work solving cold cases. His work is his entire life, and he's convinced a string of unsolved cold-case suicides are linked to what could be Australia's worst ever serial killer. Problem is, no one believes him. Senior Constable Jacob Porter loves his life in the small town of Tallowwood in northern New South Wales. When human remains are found in the camping grounds at Tallowwood Reserve, Jake's new case turns out to be linked to August's cold cases, and Jake agrees they're not suicides at all.

A must must must mystery/detective read!
Revisado: 12-31-23
Narration: I loved it! It really fit the serious tone of the book.
Story: From page one, the characters drew me right in. I love August and Jake. They worked together so well, both personally and professionally. And they stayed true to their characters. August is private and Jake patiently waits for him to share bits of himself. It's a breath of fresh air from a character pouring out their life story within moments of meeting someone. And I like that their relationship was woven into the story and the focus was truly on solving the murders. If you're looking for a steamy romance, this is not that book. It's sweet and the story intriguing and suspenseful.
The story was super interesting, the side characters fun (especially Jake's parents) and I just loved everything about this book.
Everyone should give this a read, but this would be a great book for new readers of queer romance. Happy reading!

Narration: I really enjoyed it! I thought it fit the guys perfectly considering their initial professions and general confidence/cockiness.
Story: I love this story. It’s s3xy, fun and the perfect escapism for fiction readers. Stuart and Foster are a lot of fun together; Stuart is such a tease! I felt like I was on a little adventure with the characters the entire book and the HEA is so satisfying. Highly recommend! I’ve also listened to the audio and the narrator does a fantastic job. I even bought the paperback because I love the cover so much. I’m assuming the cover model is supposed to be Stuart and it fits him perfectly.

When Mike Radley's magical home grew another floor, he thought he knew what to expect. He didn't expect a kingdom of portal-chewing rats to be living between his walls. He really didn't expect to discover that the wardrobe down the hall was a prison world for a murderous kitsune. And he definitely didn't expect all of his enemies to converge on his house all at once, intent on his destruction. Welcome to Radley's Wardrobe. Expect the Unexpected.

When Mike Radley inherited a mysterious old house from a long-lost relative, he wasn't sure what to expect. He didn't expect a sexual encounter with the nymph in his bathtub. Revisado: 08-05-23
Narration: Greg is absolute perfection! I don’t think a better narrator could have been chosen for this series.
Story: I’m so sad to see this beloved series end, but it was a perfect final book that did not disappoint at all. The pacing, the character dynamics, the romantic relationship, the action, the humor … absolutely perfect! I am so impressed by how Kai tied everything up. I have my fingers crossed that we’ll get some short stories with Parker and Nick enjoying life after all the craziness. They deserve it! 100% recommend this series and it’ll forever be a favorite.

Perfect narration and an awesome sci fi series!
Revisado: 08-02-23
Narration: It’s perfection! Greg is seriously the best fit for this series, and especially for River. I’ve been both reading and listening to this series because I love Greg’s narration so much. I’d honestly recommend listening and prepare to burst out laughing … a lot.
Story: Note that this series must be read in order and this review will have series spoilers.
Chloe Archer follows up her fantastic debut novel with a perfect addition to the series. I absolutely loved this book! Tentacular Tales is quickly becoming one of my favorite science fiction series of all time. It's such a great mix of sci fi goodness including pop culture references, humor, romance, adventure, and more. Sci Fi books can be so easily disappointing and there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this series thus far. It can also be hard for me to focus on books that are 250+ pages - I usually have to read them in chunks - but this book flew right by and I couldn't put it down.
Things jump right back from where the first book stopped, so we return to River, Kai and crew dealing with several things. They're following a new lead for their illegal drug distribution case and things only seem to be getting more complicated. River is still reeling from the news that he's part alien royalty, his parents' accident was actually murder, and there may or may not be a hit out on him. We continue to get to know the characters (I love them all!) and watch relationships grow (including a really sweet found family). There's a lot happening, but Chloe does a great job weaving it all together and keeping the pacing going.
Now don't forget that River and Kai haven't known each for very long, and yet they feel like they've been together forever. I love how easy their relationship is and how supportive they are of each other. Kai is also the biggest sweetheart and (literally) Kai's #1 fan. You can't help but love his love! One of the funniest things about this book is how the chapters start with a fan email and Kai's response. I think I highlighted every one of these because they made me laugh so much.
Speaking of funny, this book has one of the funniest scenes I have ever read. Without any spoilers, it has to do with an alien in roller skates. You'll know when you get there! I was reading through my highlights before writing this review and was crying laughing reading what I highlighted for that part. I have a feeling that every time I start a Chloe Archer book I'm going to think, how can Chloe one-up the funniest scene in her previous book? And then she'll do so no problem. (Another author who does this well is Alexa Land for those who love outrageously funny scenes.)
I really did love everything about this book. Shenanigans and mayhem seem to follow River everywhere and Chloe writes everything well and very true to her characters. I can't help but fall in love with the characters more and more with each page, and I can't wait to read more about everyone in the next book! The drug case is mostly wrapped up in this one, but it only opens more doors and leads to more questions (in a good way), and there's a lot of anticipation built up for the next book. It looks like the third book will be out in May 2023 and I plan to devour it the second it's released.
Thank you, Chloe, for SUCH a great sci fi series! It's my favorite genre and there just isn't a lot of queer sci fi (or sci fi in general) that really blows me away. I plan to re-read these books and I have my fingers crossed that there will be audiobooks one day. I highly, highly recommend this series, especially for my fellow sci fi nerds. Happy reading!

My name is Jamie Atwood, and I'm an addict. I never thought I'd say such a thing. Never had a problem being overly attached to anything in my life. I came from a perfectly middle-class family, made good grades, and had a hot cheerleader girlfriend...but the truth is, nothing ever really moved me. So how did a guy like me become an addict? I met Michael Kage. Kage is an MMA fighter. A famous one. I like to think I helped him get that way.

Not what I expected, in a good way!
Revisado: 07-08-23
I’ve seen this recommended by a multitude of reads over the years and finally grabbed the audios in a sale. The story can be pretty cheesy and dramatic Lillie plus some questionable things that happen, but I was really surprised by the fact that this story goes beyond cliche cheesiness. We don’t get to know a lot about Kage, but there’s enough depth and mystery to his character that I’m intrigued. And Jamie is hella clueless but an open book and I’m interested to see his character growth. I also wasn’t expecting such a good slow burn, and there’s a bit of a romantic in Kage.
So yeah … plenty cheesy and dramatic and a touch problematic, but I enjoyed it and I’m jumping right into the next book. I definitely enjoyed the book more with the narrator bringing it to life. JF Harding does a great job!
