Historia
April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

Great retro story
Revisado: 09-29-24
I think the author did a great job weaving past characters into this retro story.

Historia
The best place to be in an Apocalypse is inside a thirty ton Bradley Fighting Vehicle grinding rotting bodies to paste under your tracks or using an Abrams 120mm canister round to turn a horde of undead into a pink mist. Here’s the thing though … tracks and guns and the people who operate them wear out, even as the living corpses keep coming at you.

I like the story, but yes, authors definitely need better technical advisers because some of those scenarios describe were too far-fetched for the Soviet side.

Historia
After 9/11, the United States made one of the most secretive and dangerous deals in its history. The evidence against the powerful Saudis who coordinated the attack would be buried. In return, King Faisal would promise to keep the oil flowing and deal with the conspirators in his midst. When the king's own nephew is discovered funding ISIS, the president suspects that the Saudis never intended to live up to their agreement.

Good story
Revisado: 04-19-23
Loved the story but when it comes to visualizing the events as they happen like Anna Rapps death, I felt Guidall’s narrative was better. I didn’t have the same with this book but look forward to Mr Bricks next narration

Historia
Team Yankee, the New York Times best-seller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would have been like for the soldiers who would have had to meet the relentless onslaught of Soviet and Warsaw Pact divisions. Using the geo-political and military scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, former NORTHAG commander and author of World War Three; August 1985, Team Yankee follows the war as seen from the turret of Captain Sean Bannon's tank.

We would have had a different world if the Bear marched west
Revisado: 02-11-23
Loved the book when it first came out and serving during the Cold War in the USN. In today’s environment in the Ukrainian I think NATO really did stand a chance against the Warsaw pact

Historia
Bob Petersen arrives with his daughter at the middle school in Maine where he teaches, expecting another regular day but worried about what recent ominous news reports might portend. Suddenly his school - along with many others across the United States - is under attack. Gunmen burst in, slaughtering children and adults alike.

We are not prepared for such scenario
Revisado: 01-13-23
Call this a right wing fantasy if you want but I have done my time in the military and currently employed as a PSC
This is a scenario I hope will never happen but look at the book Debt of honor where the 747 was flown into the capital building and then 9/11.
We train to fight a evil Johnny in a school attack but we can not conceive that an attack can be well organized with the intent of mayhem. The book does have its flaws because I think some of the attacks would have countered greater resistance and the police once figured out what they are dealing with, the ones with combat experience would have resorted to military tactics
In short this is a warning on matter what side you are on.

Historia
The Communist Chinese leadership decides to move up their timetable to become the world’s sole superpower from 2049 to the present. Part of this is to unify Taiwan by force. They believe the best model for accomplishing their wider goals is to copy the comprehensive moves by Imperial Japan. The CCP/PLA thinks they can replicate the successes of the Japanese, while at the same time eliminating the failures. By means of subterfuge, they strike their East Asian neighbors, Western Pacific sea lanes, and the key American naval bases, relying on advanced missile and drone technology.

Good story line but could done better

Being former navy, I found one thing in story that sinks it. There would have been alarm bells going off once a group of a PLAN SSBN or SSGN were position off the coast
