Historia
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.

I liked the time period and descriptions of life back then, but Daisy felt like two different characters and the narrators weren't great.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I'm Glad They Got Away
Revisado: 01-23-23
I think he did a rather good job narrating this, if a bit slow. I turned it up to 1.05x But yeah, you can't really blame him for taking control of his own biography. He's the only genuine member of that family, the British public are gullible, and the press is grimey AF! But yah, great job, and I wish them peace and happiness.

All the men sounded exactly the same, I got tired of it after a while, the first book narrator was a bit better. But still a good book.

Not as great as I anticipated
Revisado: 02-17-22
It wasn't until after I began listening that I realized the narrator was one I had heard before and didn't love. I soldiered through anyway, she does a great job with the French accent. It's great, but I just assume a person who lives that long would be a little deeper. she never goes to Africa or Asia? She can't die, so why not participate in the Civil rights movement? Or rescue people during 9/11? Otherwise, well written, a lovely book.

Good story, should've added music
Revisado: 09-18-21
I didn't hate it as much as some people seemed to, I thought the narrator's voice matched the character. But considering all the "sung" lyrics and the fact that the narrator actually IS a singer (Prince Hans from Frozen!), not having any of it sung was a missed opportunity to make a good book a great audible experience. Really good story though!

Historia
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Not nearly as good as The Paris Wife
Revisado: 07-06-21
The beginning was promising. I enjoyed her childhood in Africa. But the rest sort of meanders without focus, there's a half hearted climax at the end but... I found it an unsuccessful attempt to romanticize being the confirmed second best in a contest of the heart. Meh. The narrators voices were inconsistent too.

I agree with the complaint of too many descriptions of the clothes. We get it, they're like Geishas. I would've liked more magic. Good twist though. I love fox.
