Historia
Before she met and married Mitchell Wate, the beautiful and brilliant Lila Jane Evers was an honors student at Duke University. Studying late into the night in the rare books library, she is captivated by a single line of text on an old piece of parchment: "In the Light there is Dark, and in the Dark there is Light." What can it mean?

horrible
Revisado: 07-25-24
THIS was inspired by a "love of history"? more like inspired by daddy issues. Tsar Nicholas as a villain who abused his daughter? really, Molly????
This book is nothing but trash. It isn't even well written, the pacing is horrible, the vocabulary limited and repetitive. the characters' motivations paper thin. There are fanfics written by 17 year olds better than this. I wish I could get my credit back.

Though it met with great success both on stage and in print, some were concerned discussion of premarital sex and the leveling of social rank. Today, it is best known as the play that the Mansfield Theatricals rehearse in Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

cute, but nothing special (unless...)
Revisado: 10-11-22
if it weren't for Mansfield Park, I don't think this would be much remembered, but it's a must listen if you're a fan of that novel, and the performance is good.

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

peacock feathers
Revisado: 08-27-22
DId we really NEED another Mansfield Park adaptation that cut Yates and Susan and Portsmouth?
Probably not, I'll admit.
I was hoping for something a bit more definitive; certainly the other adaptation I'm thinking of at least was a visual medium and we got to see Billie Piper.
That said, I still enjoyed this immensely.
So, no, this wasn't necessary exactly, but, hey, does s peacock really need all those feathers? 🤔
Also considering they randomly changed Mrs. Price's name, they should have called Henry Crawford Richard instead, because he's such a Dick.

Historia
Known throughout Tennessee as "Old Kate", the Bell Witch took up residence with John Bell's family in 1818. It was a cruel and noisy spirit, given to knocking and gnawing sounds before finding its own voices. With these voices and supernatural acts, the Bell Witch tormented the Bell family. The extraordinary tale recounts the only documented case in U.S. History when a spirit "actually caused a man's death".
