All the dog shifters are precious. The MC dog shifter, though grumpy and intrustworthy at first becomes so a affectionate. The first ice breaker scene in dog form was so funny and adorable, by heart clenched. And Tim, god, Tim is an adorable nervous hot mess, but a genius with plants. No wonder be basically got dog adopted. The plot and premise is straightforward, but the book shines in its writing style. The descriptions and wording of the characters' body language and words are spot on. They evoke just the right amount of earnest and excitability to make you fall in love with each of them. And the narrator. The narrator killed it. Good energy. Skilled narrator. And how he voiced it totally meshed with the entire vibe. A fun, butterfly in the chest comfort read when you need a break from real life.

Phenomenal narration brought the story to life

Carousel's performace brings the best in the sexy Mr. Cold

The story is solidly written. Likeable cast of characters (not just the main couple) and right off the bat you know not everyone's motive is as crystal clear as they want Jimmy to think. Side characters are well enough developed and you can see where each person is comming from, even if you dont agree with them. Really warm sex scenes as well, with the right amount of emotion. Rich like a black forest cake.
But man, the icing on that cake is Carousel's performace. Jimmy and the supporting characters each have their distinguished flare. However, it is Cold that has me returning again and again. Carousel utters each of Cold's words in a smokey but also lyrical way that will lull you into puddle of mush (like Jimmy). Dark and sexy, but also a note of playfulness without downplaying how dangerous and domineering of a man Cold is.
I hope to hear more from this narrator in the future as well as the author.
