Everything about the gospel message leads to the cross, and proceeds from the cross. In fact, within the narrative of Scripture, the crucifixion of Jesus is literally the crux of the story—the axis upon which the biblical story turns. But it would be a mistake to think we could sum up the significance of the crucifixion in a tidy sentence or two. That kind of thinking only insulates us from the magnificence of what God has done. In our ongoing quest to make meaning of the cross, we need to recognize that this conversation will never conclude-that there is always something more to be said.

Volume Three “Harlot & Bride" covers the last third of Revelation and explores the dark theme of the whore of Babylon followed by the bright and light-filled description of the bride, the New Jerusalem, with its gems, pearls, and clear gold streets and walls. James B. Jordan has never held a full-time academic position. He moonlighted as an editor. These lectures were given over a four-year period to a Sunday school class where he served as an assistant pastor at a small church in Niceville, Florida.

This audiobook has been made for three purposes. First, to provide the Orthodox listener with a competent overview of the history of Protestantism and its major traditions, from its beginnings in the 16th century to the present day. Second, to acquaint Orthodox and non-Orthodox listeners with a narrative of the historical relations between the Orthodox East and the Protestant West. Finally, to provide a summary of Orthodox theological opinion on the tenets of Protestantism.
