This makes me think of what Terry Pratchett’s discworld might be if it were set in England during the napoleonic wars, but it feels more “real” as if our own world were simply augmented and enhanced rather than reimagined completely. The narration is impeccable, not unlike the narration of 44 Scotland street. I now have to listen to *all* of this author’s books!

Big fan of the author, buuut...

The story engulfed me completely. I spent a full work day immersed in this audio book. It isn’t a normal WWII story, the characters are well thought out and the way the story is told lets it play out in my mind like a film.
