Who knew the end of the world would bring such change?!? The end of civilization as we know it, this is a dystopian vampire battling treat! When the humans utilize the vampires "kryptonite" to threaten their very existence everything changes. The "top dog" is no longer earned by strength but who has the tools to bring you to your knees. Sometimes you just have to play along as survival is not guaranteed, even if you can beat the others, thanks to the Elite calling all of the shots. This is a whole new world where weaknesses will end you, playing fair could kill you, & trusting anyone is simply not an option. But...then there is always someone who will surprise you. ;*}
If you enjoy stories involving gladiator type battles, rulers enforcing their own agenda, vampires who are true savages, & one warrior determined to break free then you must read this book!

Found a whole new world to escape to!

A nice introduction to a new world & new (to me) author. While a few chapters/scenes felt rushed or lacking detail I enjoyed these characters, personalities, & their world all together. I loved the paranormal vibe with gargoyle protectors, woodlands/water realms, etc. I have not ventured to a world such as this before. I would like much much more. The inclusion of the nonverbal characters & signing won even more points as I enjoy the diversity it offers. Many times authors/readers choose to depict/see such characteristics as a disability or beneath others, but this author made Magali a strong capable woman who is not lacking simply because she can not mouth speak. She definitely makes herself heard even without the vocals. Her presence demands attention & that no BS attitude even for the man she loves made me applaud her even more. Zander is definitely a hand full. We can tell this by every interaction shared. It requires a strong partner to help balance that too. His love seems like the only woman capable of doing so. Magali & Zander’s banter had me chuckling throughout the entire story. The Queen also has a few comical scenes I enjoyed reminding me of our own household. Then Tristan stepping up to be there for Zander....that scene had me snort-laughing. Parents will definitely understand. LOLz All in all, the chapters are short but offered us glimpse into a world we want to jump back into. Understandably this novella’s entire length is only 3 hrs 23 mins., but I still felt like there could have been some more added in a few areas where it seemed a bit fast forwarded. I adore the relationship in their family. There are no step-anything...just family by choice! Love love Love it!! The epilogue was greatness. I hoped there was more to come for these characters as a whole, & the direction it’s going feels right. I will be checking out audible to see what has been released for this series to continue it.

On the performance side I felt a few scenes were not flowing well as they should as the female narrator paused in places that normally speaking one would not pause. It took me a little bit to get past that annoyance. I found myself changing the speed read on her parts to help that along, but that is something I would want to have to do on a longer book if narrators are switching off a lot. Hopefully if she continues reading for this character she will get a better feel for the characters & adjust her flow accordingly.

An adventure like none other! Angels, Fallen, Nephilim, & more!

I am dying over here right now!! Hidden Wings Audiobook was AMAZING!!!!! Made me fall in love with this series all over again!! I am going to have to get the others on audio!!! Are they even available yet? OMG I am going through withdrawal already. Listened to the preview of Broken Wings & am still freaking out. I am so glad book 2 is obviously available already. :D You have to listen! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!! I mean, obviously you know...you wrote the books, but listening to them being read to you is a while new experience. Ya know? Yeah this series ROCKS!!!!!

Very good ending to a very good series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from beginning to end, but this ending was the best ending I could imagine after all of the events they survived!!
So many twists & turns on this journey. Many peoples lives ever-changing as they battled what was thrown at them refusing to give up. This story is full of heartbreak, devotion, unending obstacles, & real love that never forgets plus vampire goodness, a zombie like plague, & post apocalyptic survival. But that’s not all! Later we are introduced to magic & mayhem of a whole other realm. The magical moments are always my favorite, but even without the paranormal bits these characters are pretty amazing. Watching them grow, mature, & change was entertaining. This was a just ending for them all. Maybe someday we will get to revisit Seth & The Sands for a glimpse of what they’re up to now.

I LOVE THIS SERIES, but my heart was breaking. As much as I wanted happiness for all it sometimes just can not be. These characters have definitely had their share of sadness & grief, & I’m glad they’re moving on. But.....that ending!!!!!!! I KNEW IT!! Eeeeks! Soooo downloading Volume 6 now because I can Not be left hanging like this!

How can it keep getting better & more intense?!? I can’t stop wanting to know what is coming next. I thought I had it figured out ... where this was going ... but I was wrong!!! The plot thickens & the characters continue to evolve keeping me guessing. Onto to the next book right now!

Each book in this series has pulled me in further & further. I am completely obsessed at this point. These characters have continued to grow ensuring I needed more...more...more. Surprisingly their story has taken a completely different direction than I believed it would. What an exciting adventure we are now on. Frequency is my favorite of this series, so far! It was even better than I hoped it would be!
Frenzy is exactly how I feel while engulfed in this world. I want to know what’s coming, the uncertainty of feelings that will follow a bit frantic. I am super excited to see what happens in book 4!

As far as the performance... the narrator seems to get better & better as well. I think she may be feeling the characters more now as she transforms their tales into a masterpiece for us. I appreciate the work she has done as I can now listen to this awesome series while I work! That goes for the author too! I am so glad I get that download button!!

Must read series!!

Frantic is the perfect title for this book! That word perfectly describes the emotions swarming frantically inside as this tale unwinds. Frenzy was a great beginning, but Frantic takes us deeper into this strange world of vampire, human, & the infected. The plot has thickened as we realized everything was not as it appeared from any side, & yet there is so much more to discover. Off to book 3 I go!!! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Also....the performance was even better on this one than the last. No more of the oddly timed volume changes by the narrator. I enjoyed her tones for each of the different characters more in this book as well.

MUST HAVE MORE!

Loved this tale! A completely different world from those I frequently visit involving vampires. I was in constant wonder as to what would happen next? Waiting for a twist to reveal a tragic love story or savage monster making himself/herself known to all I had no idea what to expect. I am so ready for book 2! I must know what is to come!!

As for the performance, the only annoyance I had was that the narrator would get louder or quieter randomly. It was like she was constantly getting closer/farther from the mic. Other than that the narration held my full attention.

One of my favorite worlds to escape to!

This is one of my favorite series! I have enjoyed reading it just as much as listening to it on audiobook! Many family members (including my teen daughters) fell in love with this world & the characters after hearing my praises of it. I love that they too found it so appealing. Getting to listen to it though, that has taken me on a whole new mini vacation to one of my very favorite worlds created! Jennifer Malone Wright has a talent of transporting us away to Arcadia Falls in all the vampire hunting awesomeness that it is. This series is full of diverse characters, loads of action, lasting bonds, thrilling adventure around the world, life changing choices, raw emotion, vampires, magic, & hunters galore.
