Pressley ruins yet another book
Revisado: 10-13-20
It is difficult to take any novel seriously with Brittany Pressley narrating. She has one voice- a petulant teenage girl. Period. Whether it’s a stern father figure reading scripture or an actual young person contemplating faith, the delivery is the same. Her characters sound bored, breathy, and overly dramatic. Had I realized Pressley was narrating, I would have skipped it.

And she also knows what happened to the missing infant, because two decades ago she made the devastating choice to raise the baby as her own. THIS IS AWFUL
Revisado: 05-04-20
I love Diane Chamberlain, but this is an insult to her readers. It’s one cliche after another, insipid and unlikeable characters, and the pace is off throughout.

Revisado: 11-10-18
I read/listen to approximately 200 books a year. This is, without a doubt, the best book I’ve listened to this year. It is beautifully written, splendidly narrated, and a JOY to experience. You will love this novel...

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Insulting to intelligent listeners
Revisado: 09-29-18
This is the worst book I’ve listened to in years. I love Audible and am an avid listener. Though I go through hundreds of books a year, I typically do not write reviews- especially in cases where I haven’t enjoyed the work! This, however, is a novel that actually made me question my fellow man, as it receives favorable reviews! I cannot stress this enough, friends- THIS IS A HORRIBLE BOOK! The narration is god awful, yet it almost seems like only narration this bad could match the cliched, trite, unimaginative, overworked, unintelligent, frankly insulting preteen level garbage that passes as a decent work of literature. Do not listen to this book. Your head will ache from the inner groans and outward eye rolls that this insipid waste of time will inspire.

Falls below expectations
Revisado: 03-12-17
I like Robert Bailey, but unfortunately this novel is nowhere near his best work. The story is predictable and lackluster, the characters are cliches at best, and the writing itself is reminiscent of a high school student who has read every Grisham novel twice.
