Historia
Ten years after graduation, Jessica Miller has planned her triumphant return to her Southern, elite Duquette University, down to the envious whispers that are sure to follow in her wake. Everyone is going to see the girl she wants them to see - confident, beautiful, indifferent. Not the girl she was when she left campus, back when Heather Shelby's murder fractured everything, including the tight bond linking the six friends she'd been closest to since freshman year.

Underwhelmed
Revisado: 05-31-22
The characters gave me second hand embarrassment, I hated all of them and their dynamic was weird. I probably would have liked the girl that died but while she was talked about the audience never got to know her/her point of view/motivations. Maybe would have been more interesting from her point of her view? The “twist” was obvious. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Love it!
Revisado: 03-23-22
I didn’t love it as much as Sun Down Motel, it wasn’t as spooky, but I still really enjoyed it! I love the main Narrators voice, it’s very clear but warm and not monotone like some of them. The characters were actually likable and not complete idiots (common with this genre). The pacing of the plot was also great, the author didn’t try too hard to throw you off just for a big twist at the end. It had a satisfying ending but I would love to see this character again in a future book!

I guess I’m in the minority here but I hated it. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. This was a funhouse full of mirrors that served no other function than confusing the heck out of the reader but it was not fun at all. I disliked every single one of the characters or it was just one character I guess? It had promise with an attractive cover and intriguing blurb but the plot was not organized and it was super slow. Sorry but I don’t not recommend, at all. I want my 17 hours back.

Great shift in perspective
Revisado: 02-02-22
The narration is a little flat but there are good insights and had a positive essence throughout. Sometimes self help books can be too generalized/preachy/too overwhelming to implement but I liked that there are baby steps that you can start immediately. I liked that there was a story throughout, even if it was corny, to illustrate the points of the book and help you understand how to use the concepts in your own life. A refreshing take on service and personal development.

Easy listen, a bit boring in the 3rd quarter but picked back up by the end. Had some good take always with relatable stories for context. Was what I needed as I try to shift my perspective and relationship with failure and rejection.

Really wanted to like it.
Revisado: 02-02-22
I was expecting the ending to be satisfying - it was not. There were a few minor characters throughout that were quirky and likable but the main ones were kind of awful. It felt like there were too many sources of inspiration taped together. There was a lot of time spent building up Ellingham, but the author just told us how great it was instead of showing us. I read until the third book holding out for a grand ending but I was disappointed. I am not a YA but do enjoy some of the genre, this one was not for me.

Historia
I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me. My name is Helena Ross. I've written 15 romance novels, 10 of which have become international best sellers. But this one isn't a romance, no happily ever after in place. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.

Sad
Revisado: 01-11-22
The writing was great but the pacing was a little slow and it was sad. I felt like it was a conclusion to a series I didn’t get to read, kind of wish there was more opportunity/back story on each character to connect with them more. I still enjoyed it, just not my favorite.

Addictive and unexpected
Revisado: 11-09-21
I read a lot of thrillers and mysteries and I wasn’t expecting much out if this. The characters were well thought out and developed and while I didn’t like all of the characters you can help but empathize with (most) of them considering their circumstances. The point of view jumps around which helps keep you in your toes and gives important insight to the turns the story takes. Beginning was a bit slow but then I couldn’t stop listening. I did figure out the “main” twist but I didn’t see all the puzzle pieces fall into place until later so I was engaged until the end. Highly recommend!

Slightly slow, but satisfying storytelling!
Revisado: 11-05-21
Good story! The characters were likeable, sometimes in books like these you want to smack them. Good clues that tied up nicely in the end! It wasn’t as fast paced/addictive as I wanted it to be but it was a good read/listen!

Historia
In this deeply scary and intensely unnerving debut novel, Jake and a woman known only as "The Girlfriend" are on a drive to visit his parents at their secluded farm. But when Jake leaves "The Girlfriend" stranded at an abandoned high school, what follows is a twisted unraveling of the darkest unease, an exploration into psychological frailty, and an ending as suspenseful as The Usual Suspects and as haunting as Misery.
