Historia
Nineteen years ago, I was plucked from the heart of a bloody massacre that spared nobody else. Small. Fragile. An enigma. Now ward to a powerful High Master who knows too much and says too little, I lead a simple life, never straying from the confines of an imaginary line I've drawn around the castle grounds.

This is a sick book
Revisado: 01-21-24
Ok, so I used my credit on it, so I finished it. But honestly it is so boring… like you wait a lifetime for something to happen… and when it does, you are like… why? Why wouldn’t you just understand that the guy is really, really sick??? I really would enjoy if she had a chance with that new guy… but I don’t think this is the actual thing that will happen. So I will never buy the following books. I get dark romance… but this is just creepy romance. A man watching a girl grow from age 2 should never want her. That’s it. As simple as that.

Wow
Revisado: 11-14-23
The wow is real, but in a negative way. This book is… really garbage… I mean I was so ashamed for the guy that had to read this.. and the way he did it. The accents are awful… I really hate leaving books unfinished, but at a certain point I couldn’t anymore. The plot… it’s so hard to really be there for it… because it just doesn’t ring as believable. The girl will die but she is acting like coca cola is more important than her life. I understand the enjoy life idea, but without a real analysis of what will pass to her, it just sounds like she is stupid. Lothaire really doesn’t want her, until he just changes completely his opinion… I honestly didn’t get it..

For generations, deadly storms have ravaged Mina's homeland. Her people believe the Sea God, once their protector, now curse them with death and despair. To appease him, each year a maiden is thrown into the sea, in the hopes that one day the 'true bride' will be chosen and end the suffering. Many believe Shim Cheong - Mina's brother's beloved - to be the legendary true bride. But on the night Cheong is sacrificed, Mina's brother follows her, even knowing that to interfere is a death sentence. To save her brother, Mina throws herself into the water in Cheong's stead.

I read/listen a looot. So I tend to just feel that many books are similar, some better than others. But this IS a wonderful story with great messages: be brave, follow your heart and you will follow your destiny..

Historia
The ultimate cure that could heal any disease? Crazy. That's exactly what research scientist Marian Creighton has always believed about her father's quest, even if it does stem from a desire to save her sister Ellen from the genetic disease that stole their mother from them. But when her father falls into a coma after drinking a vial of holy water believed to contain traces of residue from the Tree of Life, Marian must question all of her assumptions. He's left behind tantalizing clues that suggest he's crossed back in time.

No depth, no feeling, no nothing
Revisado: 04-10-23
I adore time traveling books. When they are developing a real relation, making me understand why 2 persons so different would be good together. Here, there is no reason, no development, nothing. They see each other and that’s it. There is no feeling of the era, no caracthers development. She is so cool because she asks him to spend time together as a family. She plays with his kids and suddenly finds she loves them like a mother? I think this is not written by a mother :)).

High in the Transylvanian woods, at the castle Piscul Draculi, live five daughters and their doting father. It's an idyllic life for Jena, the second eldest, who spends her time exploring the mysterious forest with her constant companion, a most unusual frog. But best by far is the castle's hidden portal, known only to the sisters. Every Full Moon, they alone can pass through it into the enchanted world of the Other Kingdom. There they dance through the night with the fey creatures of this magical realm.

Dissapointing (if you know Romanian folklore)
Revisado: 11-17-22
Ok, so this would really be a book for a 10 year old. The story is really hilarious .. the relationship development is something that I could of lived without reading (can it be a called relationship if it’s with a frog?!), and the folklore part is disappointingly lacking in depth. I am Romanian and although I have no problem at all with people writing about vampires in my country, it is sad not to try to really go a little deeper than that. We have such a rich folklore, our own fairies (ielele), a lot of pagan celebrations and rich history (does anyone know that we kind of have our own Stonehenge in Sarmisegetusa Regia?). So just setting a story here, reminding us all that we are the home of vampires (I am still waiting to meet them, though… ) and throwing some cities names means just zero research. Somebody else did that already, the whole world knows that. I was expecting much more than this.. Marilier has written my favorite book ever (Daughter of the forest) and I loved her way of introducing folklore to her stories, but this time she just recicled what she already wrote and threw in some fangs…

The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

Not something I can appreciate
Revisado: 11-17-22
Ok, so I tried to return this title, but I couldn’t. So I read it. The story is.. exaggerated in all the senses. The way that Z is doing exactly what he’s actually working against, well… I don’t get it and it definitely doesn’t excuse his behavior. It is not ok to be a stocker.. that’s it. People should be safe in their houses, decide what they do with their body and have the right to privacy. And it doesn’t matter that the ones that take that away are strangers or their husbands. There is no scenario where that is ok. Also, the swearing and the amount of sex scenes… not my favorite, but this was my fault for not paying attention to what I purchased.

A good book
Revisado: 11-12-22
I enjoyed very much the plot. I liked the main caracther and how death was portayed. In certain places it was funny to imagine it, kind of stretched and some elements very predictable (like the mistery stable boy :) ), but even like that it was an enjoyable, entertaining, well written book, perfect for an autumn crisp night.

My favorite book
Revisado: 09-14-22
I love this book. It is the sort of story that touches the soul. I love the main character and her strength, her way of thinking and how she develops with the story but remains true to her beliefs. I love the fact that the main subject of the book is not a love story like others, but a love between brothers that moves everything in the right direction. The storyline is deep and touching. I recommend it.

Historia
In 1945 when the atomic bombs were dropped in WWII, our “protectors” and “watchers” in outer space saw that Earth was on a collision course with disaster. The prime directive of non-interference prevented them from taking any action, but then they came up with a brilliant plan to save Earth and assist her in her ascension. They couldn’t interfere from the “outside”, but maybe they could influence from the “inside”. So the call went out for volunteers to come and help. “Earth is in trouble - who wants to volunteer?”

Historia
Joseph Campbell brought mythology to a mass audience. His bestselling books, including The Power of Myth and The Hero with a Thousand Faces, are the rare blockbusters that are also scholarly classics. While Campbell’s work reached wide and deep, he never wrote a book on goddesses in world mythology. He did, however, have much to say on the subject. Between 1972 and 1986 he gave over twenty lectures and workshops on goddesses, exploring the figures, functions, symbols, and themes of the feminine divine, following them through their transformations across cultures and epochs. Editor Safron Rossi collects these lectures for the first time.
