Historia
Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn't realize she's heading straight into a blizzard. She never arrives at her destination. Stranded in rural Maine with a dead car and broken ankle, Tegan worries she's made a terrible mistake. Then a miracle occurs: she is rescued by a couple who offers her a room in their warm cabin until the snow clears. But something isn't right.

Tedious and unlikely

Unlikable characters and the narrator made Teagan obnoxious. Felt predictable and drawn out. Some parts were just painful

Historia
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

Binged it but left disappointed
Revisado: 03-11-25
The writing style was good. Loved the details and descriptions. Great character development. The story itself was intriguing but left me not liking some of the characters. Good twists and turns but the end fell flat and the daughter was a difficult character to appreciate. I did like the father, Frank and the narrator did an excellent job with voice acting all characters. I hate a narrator who just reads. Overall, not even close to Hidden Pictures caliber but it kept my interest.

Historia
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Painfully pathetic
Revisado: 02-23-25
Slow to progress into anything at all. Mundane story line.
Unlikable characters and the narrator of Miles is so awful. He sounds like a complete creep which is perfect for the character, but I don’t think that’s the intention. “Rachel, Rachel, Rachel”. Oh. My. Goodness. Just STOP. What teenager speaks or thinks like that?
THEN, there’s Tate. Tate, poor baby girl, she needs to get a life and a new f*** buddy, or a boyfriend like she really wants. She’s honestly a pathetic character with her pining for the unwaveringly emotionally unavailable Miles. Also… JUST STOP. She’s constantly making herself to be this vulnerable and extremely available doormat of a person. It’s very hard to get through. Like you just want to shake her and tell her to wake the hell up, he’s just not that into you.
But alas… she’s “liquid” around Miles!! Ugh!! Gross. The sex scenes were somewhat steamy but got worse as time went on and her emotions grew and then they grew tired and I just skimmed after the first few.
It’s the same loop the entire book and I found myself completely uninterested in Miles’ “why” after doing the back and forth just a few times. Again the narrator did no favors for Miles creep of a character.
Don’t bother with this one.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Lost it’s fizz
Revisado: 04-03-23
This book was suspenseful in parts and kept my interest in spite of the holes in the story at parts. The end was a let down though; I agree with other reviews in that it felt rushed and a missed opportunity for a much better ending. The male character felt entirely too naïve and foolish. The narrators voice made him seem like an even bigger chump; I was expecting the story to play into that part of the guy’s character to spice things up, but it just fell flat.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

A slice of life story but nothing, absolutely nothing, exciting or interesting to report. There was some humor in the beginning and I found the narrator to be exceptionally good.
