Historia
Scientist Beth Darlow has discovered the unimaginable. She's built a machine that allows human consciousness to travel through time—to any point in the traveler's lifetime—and relive moments of their life. An impossible breakthrough, but it's not perfect: the traveler has no way to interact with the past. They can only observe. After Beth's husband, the co-creator of the machine, dies in a tragic car accident, Beth is left to raise daughter—and continue the work they started. Mired in grief and threatened by her CEO, Beth pushes herself to the limit to prove the value of her technology.

Unique time travel story
Revisado: 03-23-25
Fracassi has become one of my favorite authors and when there is a new book coming it's one the few authors I'll preorder. His books flow well, are easy to get into and never disappoint. This book was no different. Excellent narration as well.

1983: Three students from a small college embark on a week-long road trip to film a documentary on roadside memorials for their American Studies class. The project starts out as a fun adventure with long stretches of empty road and nightly campfires where they begin to open up with one another. But as they venture deeper into the Appalachian backwoods, the atmosphere begins to darken. They notice more and more of the memorials feature a strange, unsettling symbol hinting at a sinister secret.

Slow build
Revisado: 03-09-25
Thoroughly enjoyed. Cared about the characters. Starts slow and builds a great sense of unease. After roughly halfway through I couldn't stop listening. Really started to creep me out as I listened in bed at night... something few books do to me. Very satisfied

Historia
Outside Los Angeles, a driver pulls up to find a young woman sitting on a large black box. She offers him $200,000 cash to transport her and that box across the country, to Washington, DC. But there are rules: He cannot look inside the box. He cannot ask questions. He cannot tell anyone. They must leave immediately. He must leave all trackable devices behind. As these eccentric misfits hit the road, rumors spread on social media that the box is part of a carefully orchestrated terror attack intended to plunge the USA into civil war.

Sooo illuminating to the extremes of too much social media. Smart, funny, and insightful with outstanding narration. I rarely write reviews but this book deserved it.

I'm glad i ignored the negative reviews. The narration is fine and the collection of stories is one of the better I've listened to. The last story was outstanding. It's the longest story in the book and to me was the star of the show. It had me physically holding my breath. I'm adding this to my list of favorites and trying more books by this author. Would absolutely recommend.

Historia
Henry Lambert would rather play video games than spend time in the great outdoors - but that doesn't make him a wuss. Skinny nerd? Fine. But wuss is a little harsh. Sadly, his dad doesn't agree. Which is why Henry is being shipped off to Strongwoods Survival Camp. Strongwoods isn't exactly as advertised. It looks like the victim of a zombie apocalypse, the "camp director" is a psycho drill sergeant, and Henry's sure he saw a sign written in blood...

Should have bought sooner
Revisado: 07-30-22
I had this book in my wishlist for quite a while but never bought it because it was categorized as YA. I should not have paid any attention to that categorization. The main characters are young teenagers, but this book didn't feel like a YA book to me. It was hilarious, it was fun, and it sucks you in quickly. I finished in less than a day. The narrator was an excellent choice and did a great job. While I was already a Jeff Stand fan, this book delivered even more than i had hoped. A highly recommended fast and fun read.

Ok story, excellent narration
Revisado: 08-06-18
This series started off work lots of promise. The characters were all fairly interesting and you cared about them. unfortunately, none of the books were long enough to get deep enough into the characters. i wish each book were twice as long as they were. the narration was excellent. ok series, not sure if it's worth 5 credits though.

This is an AudioMovie - an unabridged, enhanced audiobook, with a sound track, sound effects, and a full cast. A demon: Every soul he claims is another chance to advance. Until he can walk among us, look like us, make us believe in him. The only thing holding him back is...an angel. A woman must choose. In the end, they will all be judged.

I almost didn't listen to this book due to a previous reviewer who felt the audio performance was bad. I'm very picky about finding narrators that I feel take pride in their work and found the audio performance for this book to be outstanding. I felt the subtle music effects added a great atmosphere to the storytelling. Please don't let a negative review dissuade you from listening to this book. I loved the performance and enjoyed the book.

Historia
It was supposed to be a harmless camping trip. Six wayward teenagers who'd run into trouble with the law, and their court-appointed guardians, Sara and Martin Randhurst. Three nights on a small, deserted island off of Michigan's upper peninsula. A time to bond, to learn, to heal. Then Martin told a campfire story about the island's history. Of the old civil war prison hidden in there, and the starving confederate soldiers who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Everyone thought it was funny. They even laughed when Martin pretended to be dragged off into the woods.

Flashback to childhood cartoons
Revisado: 02-24-14
The only reason i find this book almost listenable is due to the above average narration. The best way i can summarize this book to a prospective listener would be to ask you to recall your childhood cartoons. Now, with those cartoons in mind:
1. extract the good guys and bad guys from cartoon packaging then insert into a mixing bowl with...
2. a serving of blood
3. a heaping portion of guts
4. sprinkle in some authentic Power Rangers believability
5. mix well
6. voila! you now have this novel!

Wish I Could Say Different
Revisado: 01-30-14
Having listened to hundreds of audio books I feel qualified enough to declare the audio editing and narration effort of this audio book to be of a quality that is embarrassingly substandard. I really wish it wasn't so bad, and i hate to speak badly of peoples work, but i almost feel insulted that this book is presented for purchase as a finished product.
My 3 issues relate to the quality of narration.
1. It sounds as though the narrator is reading the book for the first time as he narrates the book to us. The pauses in his speech confuse the listener as they come at points where it seems like the narrator has anticipated the end of a sentence then realizes the sentence or paragraph continue and resumes reading.
2. Background noise. You can literally hear the pages of the book being turned at some points. This also leads to more fractured narration as there is a mid-sentence pause as the page is turned.
3. This opinion is more subjective and may not apply to other listeners... While the narrator could have a good voice i found the way he narrated reminiscent of grade school when a child would have to read aloud to the class and would use a clownish, sarcastic tone in an attempt to avoid speaking in monotone and to also avoid giving classmates the impression that they were dedicated to giving their best performance. I hope that makes sense to some of you.
Bottom line... I found this book to be unlistenable. I cannot comment on the quality of the story as i found it impossible get very far through it due to reasons mentioned above.

Wow! Awesome performance by narrator!
Revisado: 09-19-12
I had seen the movie when i was a kid and while I'm a fan of SK's books i had never felt the urge to read this book. I should have known better. I have been terribly disappointed with nearly all Kings stories which were adapted for tv or movies. Don't make the same mistake i made by being put off from reading this book. This is a really good book with excellent characters and an absolutely incredible narrator. As much as i loved the story i think i loved the narration even more. In my 50 audio book listening history this is definitely the best solo male narration I've heard.
An overall awesome listening experience.
