Historia
As the flames of war threaten to engulf the globe, a new threat emerges. A deadly flu, the like of which no one has ever seen or imagined, relentlessly spreads, gripping the world by the throat and slowly squeezing the life from humanity. Eight soldiers, accustomed to operating below the radar, carrying out the dirty work of a modern democracy, become trapped within the carnage of a new and terrifying world. Deniable and completely expendable.

Not what I'd hoped for
Revisado: 09-26-15
This is a story set in the Uk with British characters so who narrated ? He sure wasn't British and it made this painful to listen to, not only was there frequent mispronunciation of words but the so called accents were appalling . One character was Welsh, and there were other strong Area accents attributed to various members of the team but the narrator clearly had no idea of what they should sound like. I've listened to many many books over the last few years and this book I have to say is a rare thing, a weak story and bad narration. Don't waste your money, credit or time.

Historia
When 18-year-old Mary Hazard touched down in postwar Putney to begin her nurse's training, she could never have known that it was the beginning of a colourful career that would still be going 60 years later - one of the longest-ever serving NHS nurses. For Mary, raised in a strict convent in rural south Ireland, working in her first London hospital was a shocking and life-changing experience. Against a backdrop of ongoing rationing and poverty, she saw for the first time the horrors of disease...

A delight

What a wonderful book written by an astonishing lady. At times eye watering funny to poignant and sad this book runs through all the emotions but as a life story it leaves you knowing that there really is wonderful, caring people in the world. This is not my regular reading fare but I also trained as a nurse so it caught my eye one day. As a nurse trained in the NHS I my own experiences followed many that Mary describes, especially the people that work in Hospitals, from Porters to Surgeons, catering staff to Sisters they really do exist as Mary describes. Hospitals are worlds in their own right , populated by their own very special people. Mary is not only one of those special people, but also a talented author who keeps you fascinated by her beautifully written autobiography. I started listening to this one evening, and finished at 4am, I didn't want to turn off the iPod. There are some books that stay with you forever, "sixty years a nurse" is one of those books.

Historia
This relaxing hypnosis program allows the listener to create a pain-free area in the brain and find relief from chronic physical and emotional pain. By creating this pain-free zone, one is able to escape the grind of constant pain, and break any chronic pain loops. The download reinforces the mind's ability to focus selectively, which enhances the brain's own pain-relief mechanism.

Don't waste your money
Revisado: 04-26-13
The author claims to have written a guided meditation in which you can create a pain free room in your own mind. And has failed. She wanders off the point going into explanations that are hugely distracting and prevent the listener from achieving any kind of self hypnosis or benefit. I only listened to this once and far from helping me to cope with my chronic pain it left me annoyed and feeling that I had been taken advantage of.

Dont waste your money
Revisado: 10-03-10
Oh what a terrible thing the narrator has done to this wonderful book. I have the all the other books in this series in audible format (as well as written!), and loved each and every one. But this is appalling, the narrator is boring, and worse than that there has been no attempt to make sure that the pronunciation is in line with the other audio books. It makes it almost painful to listen to, and the voice of "Silk" at the end is cringe-making turning him into a slimy character instead of the intelligent and witty person we all know him to be. The book is written from the viewpoint of Belgarath telling his life history, but the audible version makes him sound bored and arrogant. I have given it one star only because I know the story to be, in fact, well worth reading the book. I expected this to be 5 stars, instead I got 30ish hours of the worst audio book ever.
