Fun story and narration!
Revisado: 01-14-25
I enjoyed this whole book. It was fun to see behind the scenes of some of the most iconic musical moments of the 80s, among other things. And Martin's narration was really great.

I liked the characters and the narrator is perfect
Revisado: 12-16-24
In general I really like this writer's stories and I've listened to or read almost all of them. This narrator is so good! But there were things about the story that bothered me, such as, why in every chapter the character Kate mentions calories, not wanting to eat this or that because of the calories, and always making a thing out of avoiding eating delicious food. That that was very concerning. It has no relation to the story whatsoever, and it doesn't send a very good message. Also, I felt it was easy to figure out who the guilty party was.

Historia
A perfect next listen for fans of Abbi Waxman and Katherine Center, Can't Take It Back is a fast-paced and relatable debut telling the interconnected stories of four women over the course of a kindergarten school year. Huddled on their favorite park bench in a quiet Seattle suburb, Holly, Avery, Zoe, and Sasha might look like they've got it all figured out - but there’s more to their stories than meets the eye.

Full of cliches, characters not particularly likable
Revisado: 11-07-22
Maybe it was the lack of depth, but I couldn't find anything to like about any of the characters. And seriously, the "hot" Latina whose temper is also hot/crazy? - I found that offensive. The Sasha narrator really bothered me with her vocal fry. Other narrators were just fine.
