Historia
"You’re not doing it right." Michael Ian Black has been hearing these five words all his life. And now—on the eve of his 40th birthday—he is finally beginning to wonder why. As a husband and father living in the suburbs, Michael asks the questions so many of us ask ourselves at one point or another, including "How did I end up here?" The answers are painstakingly detailed in this, Michael Ian Black’s debut memoir.

My first read of a MIB book, but not my last. I didn't expect the writing to be so sharp, and consistently funny. I'll surely spin this again soon.

Simply Phenomenal. A Treasure.

Anyone denigrating this book, or it's narrator isn't worthy of a review. Bizzenger's love of the people, and of the rugged landscape and chaotic history of West Texas is undeniable, and bleeds through onto every page. This is a work of non-fiction, but the author is part of the narrative, and thus has a perspective. That perspective is mostly fair, and unwavering in it's reporting of abhorrent behavior. Chapter 5 (Black and White) is a standout, and is merciless in it's reporting. Once the shock of it wears off, you can't help but laugh at the absurdity.
Even at its most methodical, this book crackles. Bizzenger's metaphors throughout the book add the touch of color and humor required to tackle his often beleaguered subjects. The Coin Toss chapter is another standout, and reads like a Twain short story.
Do not hesitate to purchase this audiobook. It's the best decision you'll make all day.

Historia
To a New York City girl like Stacey, the fact that an old - supposedly haunted - house in Stoneybrook is being torn down is no big deal. But then her friend Kristy discovers the house was built on a graveyard, and when Stacey sees a horrible face in one of the windows, she wonders if the house really could be haunted!

This was our 5th book. Narrator wasn't too good, and the story wasn't enjoyable. On to the next one...
