I was all in with the love story presented in this book. A girl with a dark secret and a man with a rough past. It worked well. And then the added element of murder and suspense? Yeah. A good read for sure. Narrator killed it! Pun intended. ;)

I Need More

So I reeeeaaaaallly wanted this character to get what she deserved, but by the time everything was revealed in the end, I couldn't help wanting her to succeed and I am eager to hear more!!! I hope Jenifer continues writing her story! The narrator killed it. SO easy to follow the story. Outstanding job!

An Easy and Intense Listen

Ok. I had trouble liking the main character in this story, however as the series continues and the story line is heightened, I found myself half rooting for her and half wanting her to get her "comeupins." But I couldn't stop being riveted to this story and being on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out how things would pan out. Also, the narrator is extremely good. I will readily admit that she is a friend of mine in the real world, however, I found it easy to forget that I was listening to my friend....and from one audio book narrator to another, that is the highest compliment that I can give. It's a good series. One worth diving into!

I Want To Hear More

I know that this is technically a young adult fantasy story, but I gave it a listen for my friend, who was the narrator of this story. So quickly I found myself completely sucked into the story and the story telling and I can't wait to hear more in the series! I'm hooked!

A Must Read

This book is excellent. It is a story that BEGS to be read in light of our society today. I saw myself reflected in those pages and as I dug deeper, it challenged me in ways that I didn't realize until that point that I needed to be challenged. My perspective on life will forever be different. You do not want to miss reading this story.

I randomly came across one Mary Burton's books during one of Audible's sales and now I can't stop listening to her stories. ;) This narrator was excellent. He was easy to listen to and drew me completely into the story. From one narrator to another, well done! And Mary, keep these books coming! Love them!

Huge fan of Mary Burton!

I recently randomly grabbed one of Mary Burton's books from a clearance sale that Audible was having and now I can't stop listening to her books. She has a great way of pulling you into the drama and the mystery of the story and always has a great pay off in the end. In this story/series, the narrator does use an odd voice for the lead male character(s) which is off putting, but it didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying this story & the rest of this series. I can't get enough!

Great Read

I was riveted as I walked through this story. She left me on the edge of my seat in a beautiful way so often as she moved b/w the 2 time lines. The characters had me fully engaged in their story from the moment I met them. Another great story by Irina Shapiro.
