What did you like best about Fluency Made Achievable? What did you like least?

I agree with Trudy Owens' advice: "read, don't listen".

The content was good, although a very short book for an audio book. It didn't leave much behind, except that I need a paper copy, since it's not a typical story book and I can't remember all of the advice from just listening while taking a walk.

I bought it because she has a podcast that I listen too and I needed something to listen to after I finished listening to all of her shows.

Just another "do what you love" book

Would you try another book from Cal Newport and/or Dave Mallow?

No.

What was most disappointing about Cal Newport’s story?

This book was recommended to me after I posted a blog on Twitter that I had read on the Internet about the fallacy that doing what you love is a good plan. The book starts by criticising all the "do what you love" books on the market. There was a little bit of research based content about the fact that most people don't have a single passion for something. Later it starts to be about individual stories about a few people and their careers, which is a very inaccurate way of describing the world, and then the author comes up with some rules, based on these stories, to follow for a successful career. In the end the author starts to put a lot of emphasis on "Quest for Work You Love" so the book becomes just another "do what you love" book.
