Surprisingly good
Revisado: 04-26-25
I found this book different than what I expected, set up more as a fairytale and developed into more as a proceeded
The narrator did an excellent job and I’d have to admit the accent she had give it more of a feel of a fantasy
overall, I would recommend this book

Historia
Every town needs a hero, and Detective Cal Farrell fits the bill. He stopped an active shooter six months earlier, and now he’s become the darling of the Alexandria press. The problem is that Cal remembers nothing from that day. He’s working with a psychiatrist to recover his memories, but hasn’t had much luck. Then, on one of his morning runs, he is once again the first on scene for a grisly discovery—a body hanging impossibly high on a tree. Soon there’s another victim, killed by a blade and dumped in a ravine.

It’s been a while since I listened to a thriller mystery. I didn’t enjoy this one. It makes me want to revisit the genre more often.

Different

I found the overall seems to be a little too childish for my liking sorry it itself wasn’t bad and written, and what is trying to be in a quirky style

Historia
There is a world. One of endless night, surrounded by an even deeper darkness. Filled with nightmares come to life, twisted shapes that slink to windows and ease open doors, sliding across floors to look down on helpless faces. There is another world. A bright world, so bright it burns. Filled with stacked stones that call forth miracles, raised by callused hands that tremble in their work, drained with each stone lifted, settled, lifted again.

Nice addition
Revisado: 03-20-25
This book is different from the other two in the series in its tone , I found it enjoyable once I was past the first couple of chapters. Since it was hard to like some of the characters attitudes but as they grow in their world so does their appeal

Historia
A man awakens in a clearing in what appears to be medieval England with no memory of who he is, where he came from, or why he is there. Chased by a group from his own time, his sole hope for survival lies in regaining his missing memories, making allies among the locals, and perhaps even trusting in their superstitious boasts. His only help from the “real world” should have been a guidebook entitled The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England, except his copy exploded during transit.

Historia
For the first time as an Orbit special edition, Brent Weeks's blockbuster novella Perfect Shadow tells the origin story of the Night Angel trilogy's most enigmatic character: Durzo Blint. Gaelan Starfire is a farmer, happy to be a husband and a father; a careful, quiet, simple man. He's also an immortal, peerless in the arts of war. Over the centuries, he's worn many faces to hide his gift, but he is a man ill-fit for obscurity, and all too often he's become a hero, his very names passing into legend.

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Troubling
Revisado: 10-07-24
It’s troubling to sit there and listen to an author that I enjoy all of her works up to this point in this trilogy. Apparently she cannot write in the trilogy and male character that has any redeeming qualities. All men are brutal rapist with no feelings or true back stories to make them even attend, redemption or quality in them
I’m not quite sure what happened in his authors, personal life to make her hate men so much is clearly shown in this writing and hopefully will not continue in her work
