While I agree with the sentiment, when it comes to dealing with going no contact with toxic family members, Mel likens a person who goes silent to an 8 year old throwing a temper tantrum.

I find this advice to be very troubling as every person must make hard choices for their own circumstances. This is rather dangerous to throw this blanket over a life choice.

Brutal honesty served up southern style

This was a tremendous listen. I loved the author’s accent and the way she sees the word had me giggling and wishing for a nanny of my own. Beautiful story of how faith in our Lord and Savior can unknot one’s life. He did it for me, too.

Enough with the gratuitous sex scenes

I would have loved this story without the heavy romantic edge. I would have finished this had it not been for all the scenes depicting their sexual encounters. Interesting plot with good characters but I got bored half way thru. Writing sex scenes is easy, writing conflict is more entertaining.

First hand account of life in a cult

If you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a brain washing, male dominated religious cult…read this book. Jill’s bravery is astonishing. I never watched her show, but I buy the girls books because I love to know they left the cult but not their true Father in Heaven. Great narration, too.

Prince Harry is FREE!!!!!!! Well done, your majesty, well done. Do not judge a book by it’s cover. Harry is deeper and nothing short of a miracle. A young boy, grief stricken by the death of his guiding light, brought up being known as the naughty one grows into a man everyone tries to shush. No one can dim the Spencer light…no one. Not even royalty.

CREEPY MUSIC

Let me tell you…I love Sedaris. LOVE. I’ve read all of his books and seen him in person. So naturally when he releases a new collection of hilarious stories about his life and how he views the world, I’m first in line to purchase.

BUT…audible I hope you read these reviews, too….the music used in between chapters was like listening to nails on a chalkboard. It was ear piercing and creepy.

I had to return the title and I will buy the book.

I wanted to love it…

Tembi’s story begins with the end. In order for me, the reader, to continue reading about her love story, it would be beneficial if I cared about the deceased right up front. But I didn’t care because I don’t know who he is besides who the Tembi TELLS me he is. I applaud the author’s attempt to write the story backwards, but for me it didn’t work.

I was bored and uninterested in the characters and when that happens…I tend to put the book down and forget about it.
