Historia
Charles Preston Carmichael is the most infuriating man I've ever met. I want to sock the golden boy of college hockey right in the mouth. He enjoys telling me everything I'm messing up—publicly. And since he's my roommate for the next year, I can't avoid him. Yet there's something about him that makes me watch him. Something dark. A secret I want to uncover. When he returns from a weekend away, broken and haunted, I can't keep my distance anymore. He needs someone, and I'll be damned if it's not me.

This story was so engaging and just generally amazing. I was skeptical about the characters codependency, but honestly, I found their relationship to be really touching. Also Preston and Ella was literally the most adorable thing ever. Incredible book :)

Historia
Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, a.k.a. her arch-nemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her–and Viola has no idea why. When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.

Revisado: 10-20-24
Loved this story! I enjoy the confidence Viola has in her work and the characters passion for their creations! As well as the MCs dynamic! I also enjoyed the Bosses relationship and the inclusion of minorities in her books in general. Not a super well written review, it’s late and it’s what I got lol

Historia
Autumn Jones is at a crossroads. With no job offers in sight, she can either return to Koshkonong, Wisconsin to work at her dad's feed store or she can move to New York and help her older sister Helen coordinate the Manhattan Kennel Club Show. She and Helen may fight like cats and dogs, but Autumn would rather live with a thousand Helens than go home after seven years of college.

It’s a sweet story. Completely ridiculous at times, but overall enjoyable. Jack’s idiotic assumptions made me like him less tbh, but he got back in my good graces (mostly). Best character is his assistant though. I love her.

Historia
When professional—and self-taught—violinist Gwen Jackson plays, she disappears into the peaks and valleys of each song, a quiet passion that never quite explodes into pure emotion. Xander Thorne is the exact opposite. A cellist and a rock star, he’s all about big emotion, but not even his six-foot-four frame can contain his skill, his genius...and an attitude that borders on jerkitude.

Julie Soto strikes again!
Revisado: 07-24-24
After falling in love with Soto’s writing style in Forget me Not, I've been anxiously awaiting another book and it did not disappoint!! I was immersed on the story from the beginning and as an artist and former orchestra kid, the passion for music shown by these characters made my heart sing. Soto captured the way music can show emotion and encourage deep connection between people, and the theme of it throughout the book contributed to capturing Alex and Gwen’s relationship in a way it couldn’t without it. I adore the characters, the cameos of Ama and Elliot, and the depiction of how the music industry is complex and the importance of copyright. The friendships depicted in the book warmed my heart and made me laugh. I enjoyed the display of healthy and playful relationships and chosen families. Thank you for another incredible book I’ll be rereading over and over! Can’t wait for the next one :)

Historia
Cas Russell is good at math. Scary good. The vector calculus blazing through her head lets her smash through armed men twice her size and dodge every bullet in a gunfight, and she'll take any job for the right price. As far as Cas knows, she’s the only person around with a superpower...until she discovers someone with a power even more dangerous than her own. Someone who can reach directly into people’s minds and twist their brains into Moebius strips. Someone intent on becoming the world’s puppet master. Cas should run, like she usually does, but for once she's involved.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

Historia
Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

Another amazing book!
Revisado: 06-20-24
Honestly, I went into a coma reading this. The story consumed me, and I spent an entire day absorbing it. I adore this book, and the performance was incredible. Having each actor voice their character despite the changing point of view created an immersive experience. The voice actors were incredible, and well-matched to their characters and they did an amazing job conveying the emotions of the characters and further capturing us into scenes. I also enjoy how Rue differs from other female leads Ali has written. Her demeanor was interesting and refreshing, and I enjoyed that the book displayed the admiration of someone who is less easy to be around. Society likes people to be a certain way, and some people don't care to make an effort to get to know people like Rue, but this book shows how people can be incredible if you make an effort to understand them. Anyway, absolutely wonderful. I love the unique characters, the accents, the story and of course the very lovable yet stupid dog. Bravo!

Lauren is a great author, but this book is not it :p
Revisado: 05-19-24
Reece is just generally toxic and the dynamic between the two of them is horrible. The antagonist relationship just drags on and on. There’s literally zero communication or progress, and this book was mostly just disappointing. It’s just two people being stupid, and the dismissal of a blatant portrayal. Spoiler: Reece cheated. Like, Idc if it wasn’t intentional, the impact was the same and he PLANNED to break Lucy’s heart. He literally invited her over to HURT HER, and continued to hurt her to defend himself and took offense to EVERYTHING because of his own problems. He projected everything onto her. Dude needs therapy, and Lucy deserves better.
