The story was great, very exciting but the narration is lacking. Better than the first in the series though.

Of the storylines involving Pendergast, Coldmoon, and Constance, none are close to resolved. The whole book feels like the leadup to a story without ever getting to the real meat of it. And then, it ends. Buy the next book if you want to know what happens.

Too much analysis, not enough story

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This would have been better with less background and introduction about the multiple authors these stories. There were some good stories but many were just boring.

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

Wouldn't go looking for them specifically on Audible. None was that memorable

What three words best describe Graeme Malcolm’s voice?

The performance was the best part of the package. Easy to listen to with good timing and tone. He rang true to the stories read.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Dissapointed with the direction of many of the stories but mainly with all the filler about the authors, their other works, their perspectives on Holmes, Watson and Doyle.

Any additional comments?

I didn't purchase this to have whole chapters of analysts on Holmes stories, I've read them all numerous times. Nor do I need long narratives about Doyle's life experiences and motivations. I was purchasing a certain number of hours of stories not a lecture on writers.

Playback speed adjustment improves the listen

What did you like best about Tell Me a Story? What did you like least?

These are classic syfy stories, very enjoyable in themselves, however the reader does an unusually poor job. I found if I adjusted the playback speed to 1.5 most of the awkward gaps in the speech cadence were eliminated.

Bad accents, marginal reading, weak story. Sorry to be so negative, might work as a kids story.
