Don’t waste your time listening to this because
Revisado: 03-22-25
I disliked the inability of the author to actually tell a story, not to mention that the author was terribly concerned about people violating his copyright that he couldn’t believe he doesn’t know how to write a short story…I hesitate to think that he might be so enamored with himself that he might try to write a full length book. Author, please don’t.

Everything changes in a heartbeat the night Conor and his girlfriend Paris Levinson come to us begging for help, their clothes spattered with blood. They say it was an accident, that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time… A mother’s intuition is never wrong, and I know there is more they aren’t telling us. But Paris’ mother Helen and I have to make a choice that will change all of our lives. Do we tell the truth, and risk losing our children forever? Or do we lie to keep them safe? We will do anything to protect our children, but one wrong move could cost us everything.

I loved how the parents of Conor were so committed to his future that they would do whatever it takes to make sure that his dreams didn’t succumb to evil.

Historia
Every object has a ghost. There is a small yellow backpack - half unzipped, mouth yawning to the pavement, contents strewn around it (a banana, an exercise book, a pair of scissors) - abandoned on a suburban footpath. Ten feet away, the rubber stamp of tyres, resisting clamped brakes, mount the curb and cut across the path. The tracks come to an end at a crippled stop sign. The street, a tree-lined suburban road dappled in late-afternoon sunlight, is calm. But anyone walking past can feel the ghosts: the prickle on the back of their necks that tells them something happened here.

So crazy and not in a good way. You will NEVER guess the ending…
Revisado: 01-22-25
WOW! This did NOT end like I thought it would. I would say that I’m speechless, but this has never happened to me. I can say that this book/audiobook blew me away! I used to criticize Audible because of the 1 credit/$15.00/month, but I was so wrong! The Audible originals and free with membership are some of the best books I’ve ever heard! This is one of those.

Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

The twisted minds of each of the characters! So sick! In a thrilling way
Revisado: 01-22-25
“The Grandmother,” by Jane E. James. OMG! This was SO twisted! The Lies, the secrets, the unaliving, the revenge! This is a must read/listen if you like psychological thrillers and domestic thrillers! Extraordinarily unique plot!

ROAD TRIP FROM HELL! And what an adventure….
Revisado: 01-11-25
WOW! I loved this audiobook. This is the second of JE Rowney’s books that I’ve read/heard. I’m a compulsive reader; my favorite genre is the psychological thriller. The author is the only author who can make something positive out of extreme circumstances within which her characters find themselves. The story behind the story is something no other author does within the psychological thriller genre.
This audiobook is so tense; I was so afraid for for ladies who left the familiarities of their lives in order to do something amazing without regard for their safety. Kudos to them!

They’ve never had a great relationship, and Grace likes her space—especially now that she’s stuck at home during a pandemic. Then again, she needs help with the mortgage after losing her job. And maybe it’ll be a chance for them to bond—or at least give each other a hand. But living with Mother isn’t for everyone. Good intentions turn bad soon after Jackie moves in. Old wounds fester; new ones open.

This is the freakiest book/audiobook I’ve ever heard.
Revisado: 01-07-25
For quite a while I wasn’t scared. But as the plot developed, I was scared. Seriously. One of the few books that have scared me is Stage’s “Baby Teeth,” too. I sure hope that I don’t find myself sitting around a campfire with this author telling scary stories. She is seriously scary. Highly recommend, if you’re up for it; not everyone will be able to finish the book/audiobook. Give it a try; maybe make sure that you’re not listening or reading it during a heavy storm with the possibility of having the power going out. You’ll understand why I say this if you can make it to the end.

Historia
It happens more than you might think. One second someone’s life is totally typical, the next it’s terribly tragic. Everything they had, everything they planned, everything they were, all of it vanishes in a flash. Shock and sorrow leave the victim staring into tomorrow’s void, wondering: How did it happen? Who did it? And why?

Historia
Investigative journalist Laura Chambers is back in her tiny hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the one place she swore never to return. Fired from The Boston Globe, her career in shambles, she reluctantly takes a job with the local paper. The work is simple, unimportant, and worst of all, boring - at least until a missing girl turns up dead, the body impeccably clean, dressed to be the picture of innocence. Years earlier, 10-year-old Patty Finch left home and never made it back. But for the people of Hillsborough, Patty was just the beginning.

Historia
Mick's adult life is not turning out the way he'd hoped. His twenties are over, and instead of being the acclaimed novelist and family man he thought he'd be, Mick is stuck running a second-rate California motel and fumbling through an endless succession of hilarious dating misadventures. Most of his friends are married with children, and he feels they look down upon single people like him as being merely a fraction of a whole being.

The main character never stops trying to find his forever happiness
Revisado: 10-23-24
I love that the narration that does not peg his voice as originating from any particular area of the country. I like how his narration is downcast when the main character is disappointed and how the voice relays the guy’s happiness. The voice give authenticity to the story
