Narrative:
Strong sense of not wanting to be there and not giving a fuck
I can hear her attitude through her voice
A torture to listen to
It felt like it's on 1.5 times speed

From a mom's perspective:
No matter how hard you try, your kid is going to hate you for something, is going to get hurt and maybe even be traumatized
There's really no way of being the "good mom," you can only be winicott's"good enough" mom

From a daughter's perspective:
No matter how greatly traumatized and hurt you are by your mom, what she has been doing or at least trying to do was just being the best mom that she can be. God knows how hard she tried, but you may not, because it seems that she's really slacking behind.

If his book is a genuine one, it deserves 5 star

The book reads like a dairy, a journey of healing from past trauma through writing. I really hope the apology from Jobs at the end wasn't made up from imagination. It helped me understood the "bad" fathers in my life better, but at the same time freed me from always trying to do the "right thing" when interacting with them as it seems there's no such way at all. There's going to be pain anyways and regrets anyways in these kind of situations. Staying true to oneself and be as kind as possible seems to be the only way out without too much regret. I didn't appreciate her fixation on the material aspect of things at times, but I guess no body's perfect. People are real complex beings. It hurts to read something this raw and exposing.

seems like just a list of vocabulary of different emotions in alphabetical order...kinda...boring..... I didn't get it

Not sure if it's my lack of ability to understand complex literature structures, but.... it's order is pretty messy. I'm totally lost by chapter 3 or 4...

A 1st for me

The very 1st book in any area will inevitably enjoy an over rating due to ignorance bias. I apparently do not agree with the author's way of thinking and dealing with things but listening to it did open up doors for me and helped me at times in need. The 4-star rating, is a thank you for that.

more of a social standpoint describing the big picture. like the general opinion of the author however not very easy to read
