Historia
First published in 1890, this book established psychology as a science and served as the quintessential work in the field for decades. James' intricate studies and paradigm-shifting ideas transformed the way we look at human thought and action. The text covers the core concepts of what it means to be human - brain function, consciousness, discrimination, memory, sensation, imagination, reasoning, and instinct. The book is published in two volumes, the first containing Chapters I through XVI and the second continuing from XVII to XXVIII.

A much needed reading
Revisado: 01-08-22
It was necessary for someone to do this. Mic quality not so good. James' writing style is not necessarily clear, and he likes to make things more specific by expanding single words into several word phrases. For example, "idea" he would translate to "thing thought of". It may have been better for him to invent a system of terms and definitions, which would sufficiently categorize his remarks (on his own work and the work of others), rather than making enormously qualified sentences. If he did this later in his work, it was not yet present in this one. This work represents a transition in the trend of psychology (in America, at least) from a humanities-centered mapping of symbolism and neurosis (a la Freud and Jung) to general neuroscience, cognition and brain physiology. The hard and practical character of James would have directed him in this line.

Historia
This collection contains authentic re-enactments of all of George Washington's (1732-1799) major speeches during his two presidential term of office as America's first president after victory in the War for Independence. It includes his farewell address in full, regarded as a fine example of his political beliefs, as well as eight annual messages to Congress and two inaugural addresses.

Some revision needed

Some revision needed
Revisado: 11-19-21
1. The reader is a little rushed, and does not have a stately manner suitable to Washington, the general.
2. The music between speeches is nice but is actually generic European classical music, not necessarily contemporary with Washington, and not American in character. Recall that the phenomenon of the American revolution and republic was a severance from many flaws in the European trajectory.
3. Toward the end of the recording there are many mistakes in the reading, which should have been edited out.

Historia
This audio edition of Napoleon Hill's classic Think and Grow Rich is recorded from an exact reproduction of Napoleon Hill's personal copy of the first edition, the only original version recommended by The Napoleon Hill Foundation, originally printed in March of 1937. The most famous of all teachers of success spent a fortune and the better part of a lifetime of effort to produce the law of success philosophy that forms the basis of his books and that is so powerfully summarized and explained for the general public in this book.

Reading not appropriate
Revisado: 11-07-21
You may have noticed that this version is more than an hour longer than the other versions. That is because the reader reads very slowly. This is a high energy book, so this seems like a bad fit. Further, the reader delivers lines without the proper feeling. He is definitely a professional, but the fact that he just varies his technique and rhythm almost randomly shows me that he isn't actually understanding the import of the sentences. That gives it a feeling like he is a professional CHILDREN'S BOOK READER. why did they choose him then? This book can definitely help people, so maybe reading it like a children's book can reach a wider audience than the fast-paced versions.

Not to the standard of Great Courses
Revisado: 10-21-21
Great Courses has it's best lectures in front of a real audience, but occasionally has some obscure and mediocre professor simply read an extended essay. This is one of the latter. Also, this was released close to the 2020 election and a lot of the content is bent toward that event, possibly indicating that this was released at the time to be relevant and catch some of the money. This could explain the lower quality. Finally, the professor has transparent leaning toward Anti-American ideology, which I have found to be the tendency of ingrates or low-talent people who need to criticize to elevate themselves. Expediency for quick money sums up this lecture. Check out some of the other Great Courses, but skip this one.

Historia
Unlike most editions of Poor Richard, this one includes essentially all of the text, not just the aphorisms and sayings. This gives you, Courteous Listener, a much better appreciation of how Franklin wrote and thought. In particular, you will find that the full body of the Poor Richard almanacs contains a great deal of religious and spiritual thought in which Franklin laid out and propounded his understanding of Christianity as it stood in his day.

Intent to be good and sense of humor required
Revisado: 08-01-21
The narrator was chosen well, as he captured the playful and simultaneously sagacious spirit of the character of Richard well. The addition of the music likewise brings the listener into the simplicity of the times, and lightens the mood.
