Historia
After nearly fifty years in the killing business, the hitman known as Quarry was enjoying a comfortable retirement–until the grown daughter he only recently met mysteriously went missing. Now it’s up to the old man to show he hasn’t lost a step and, with the help of a femme fatale from his past, prove he’s as ruthless, deadly and unstoppable as any man half his age.

Don't let it end like this, Mr. Collins.
Revisado: 01-10-25
Unfortunately, Quarry is rather weak in this last one. Two woman save his ass on different deadly occasions. I didn't like that, and I wished he at least would have shot some villains himself instead of stumbling around and losing in fights his gun all the time. Quarry is 72 in this novel and not 92. So why make him such an old geezer? You have to rectify that, Mister Collins and write another "last one" where he is 73 and is recovered enough to do his killings himself! Please, don't let him die as this helpless old man as he is in this novel. I beg of you! :-)
Since years, I read your Quarry novels over and over again because they are unique, funny and full of great characters and events. I love Quarry. Don't let it end like he is too old to hold his gun in his hand! Please!

I was the other woman. The mistress. Everyone blamed Doctor Drew Devlin’s death on me. And I’ve paid the price for loving the wrong man. Now, I have dark circles under my eyes because I can’t sleep at night. I lost everything–friends, family, my home and even my freedom. Drew’s devious wife Fern tore my whole world apart. And she thinks she’s got away with murder.

Boring, repetetive, not good.
Revisado: 07-11-24
2 hours into the audiobook and I am really irritated. There is a dramatic change in personality of Fern which is not plausible. Then, there is nearly nothing happening. It's all annoying repetition of the first 2 books to fill the pages. The two woman are narrated by one reader, which is unfortunate and doesn't do it for me. I am giving back the audiobook.

Bitch from hell kills one victim after the other.
Revisado: 06-20-24
What a badly written, shallow, silly, awful, unsatisfying book. And the end is a slap in the face and an incredible let down. The good ones die here and the nasty person gets away with it. What a farce and a waste of time.

Historia
Cameron and Lisa Murdoch are successful crime-writers. They have been on the promotional circuit, joking that no one knows how to get away with crime like they do. After all, they write about it for a living. So when their 7 year old son Zach goes missing, naturally the police and the public wonder if they have finally decided to prove what they have been saying all this time - are they trying to show how they can commit the perfect crime?

Ich liebe Paul Cleave. Und das Buch hier auch :-)
Revisado: 06-30-21

Lame, unenthusiastic narration
Revisado: 02-11-20
Same voice for every character, even for woman.
Same intonation and speed in action scenes. What should be read more dramatically, faster and with a strong voice and intonation, the narrator reads this scenes like a instruction manual.
This was getting on my nerves extremely. Spoiled it all.

One glance was all it took... I'm a cheater. I'm a liar. My whole life is a mess. I love a man. No, I love two men... I think. One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire. One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite. I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself. But I can't stop. This is my story. My broken love story.

Poor writing! The cheesiest I have read in my life
Revisado: 02-09-20
DNF. After 1,5 hours of listening I could not bear it anymore.
This "author" has such bad writing skills, never something of her should have been published and narrated. This amateurish writing is stuff for a private blogg. But never should one have to pay for such a dilettantish thing.
I am really upset.

Evan Smoak lives by his own code. Once he was known as Orphan X. Trained as an off-the-books government assassin and spoken about only in whispers, Evan Smoak was one of the most talented - and most feared - men in the Program. But he broke free and reinvented himself as The Nowhere Man, a figure shrouded in mystery, known for helping the truly desperate. If anyone is truly desperate, it’s Max Merriweather.

Historia
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Simple, predictable, cockamamie. TEDIOUS
Revisado: 12-06-19
Too simple in pretty much every aspect.
(Really? Taking away the gun of a game warden and not getting punished for it? And the game warden is becoming laughed at by the whole County that the villain stuck the gun in his face?)
I hated the spouse by the way and her awful mother. What a bunch of shallow people.

I love Nelson Demille's books - but not this one.
Revisado: 11-18-19
I gave up after Chapter 17. What a tedious and irritating read.
I hate every word this woman "Maggie Taylor" says. She thinks obviously, she is the shit und criticises every word and doing of her boss Brody. This gets old very quickly, and I got really upset about her bitching all the time.
And I am tired of Scott Bricks reading. He is not able to read woman voices, and I did some time not know who is speaking.
Sorry, Nelson Demille. I cannot give a good rating for this book. I am very disappointed
