They say bad things happen in threes. For me, however, the fourth came in the form of Club Rapture. Locked in until morning, I'm forced to face unknown truths about myself, especially the lengths I’m willing to go to for praise. The Bloodied Skulls took everything that night. Stripped me bare and left me to pick up the pieces. Abandoned. Humiliated. Thrown into the shadows where my anger festered. Since then, I seek to find them and reap my revenge. They taught me to find pleasure in my pain, yet a bitter taste of anguish is all I’m left with.

Historia
Dr. Renee Caisson knows there are worse things than an attractive man in uniform drafting her into a secret government project—especially when Major Jackson makes it clear that he isn’t bothered by her questionable past. But when her labs come back with decidedly odd results, the Major is forced to come clean over who the government is actually studying. Renee is shocked to learn her subjects are demonic-looking beings who call themselves “Neighbors”—refugees from a dying world, who arrived during the nation-wide solar eclipse.

The start of a story that i CAN NOT wait to finish
Revisado: 04-19-24
OK so I must start with the narration - Yes she is a bit hard to understand at first with her tone and soft voice, BUT it makes sense as you go on and OMG you need to go on!
Usually I am not a SiFi fan when it comes to books or audio books but I gave this one a shot as I do love the author. This book had me on my toes; it had me in tears, joyful, angry and just all the feels. You feel for The Neighbors more then anything, they just want to save their world and they come here to see if we can work with them. And as fear is a drive for most when something new appears, humans do what we do when afraid, we lock them up and hurt them, But not everyone is afraid. Its the start to a story of hope and fear and sorrow and so much more. I can not wait for the next chapter!!!!!

Historia
Vanessa Mazur refuses to feel bad for quitting—she knows she’s doing the right thing. The thankless job of personal assistant to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans for her life, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear one more day for a man who could never find it in him to tell her good morning, congratulate her on a job well done, or wish her a happy birthday—even when she was spending it working for him.

Still a great story but falls flat with Narration
Revisado: 07-13-23
First let me start by saying that the narrators did a great Job but they were not for me. This story will always be a favorite, unfortunately the narration fell flat for me. I am a new listener for both narrators and Emma's breathy, almost whisper of a voice did not work for me as a listener and Stephen's strong voice really drowned her out at times.
The story was amazing and as always Mariana delivers in the Slow burn relationship building that we all know her for. Vanessa and Aiden start this story off thinking they know one another and in reality they realize they know nothing. The growing friendship and relationship between the two really builds and the sexual tension of 2 people unsure of how to take that next step and how to ask for what they want while they unknowingly fall in love is sweet and makes so sexy all at once.
If you want low anxiety, very slow burn, Frenemies(ish) to lovers...this should be next on your list

Noah gave me his mark, made me his, and vanished all in the same night. Kingston used that moment to claim me and bind me to him irrevocably. What he couldn’t know was by sealing our bond, he set something in motion none of us can stop. He unlocked my wolf, freed her from her cage, and she wants nothing more than to make up for lost time by starting off with a bang…literally. His mark throws me straight into my first heat. My wolf mate can give me his knot, but I’m insatiable. I need more.

Not For me and DNF
Revisado: 12-02-22
First, let me say this cast is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! seriously, i wanted to continue because of the cast, alas I could not finish.
Second, Sunday and Kingston were just not for me and that makes it hard to continue as they are 2 of the main characters and they were driving me to drink.
I listened to the first book with hopes that growth and change would occur within Sunday and Kingston in this book....nope...no change. I am 4hours in and I can not with these 2 any more. I understand they are 21 so they are young and arrogant and stupid as most people that age can be....but, in the end, he is just a selfish arrogant caveman ass and she is just a spoiled princess who is more wishy washy then my local car wash. Honestly those 2 deserve each other. I love Noah, Alex and Caleb and wish they would find someone else as it seems like they are the only grownups in the room.
I may finish the book one day but at this point i almost threw my phone across the room listening to this and want to keep it intact.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

as with the previous two in the series I finished this one with a little giggle and a bit of a sniffle. This book was as fun and sweet as they get and I love you for it Ms. Bastone! The characters had a fun filled adventure of a day while getting to know each-other in a way i can relate with (oh the joys of traveling on a cramped bus). I really do hope there is more to this collection of Love Lines and maybe, Just maybe, Loma will get her own story <3

It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

Fun, sweet, laugh out loud romance
Revisado: 04-23-21
Like the first story of this series this book was a fun, sweet, laugh out loud romance and left me wanting more! Once again Cara Bastone's writing hits me right in the feels and honestly getting to hear Elliot's side of the story from his few moments in Call Me Maybe was great! I can not wait for the third installment and till then i will just listen to the first 2 a few more times :)

Historia
What a disaster! I only just made my flight to New York to help my uncle, and the phone I'm holding is not mine! It seems to belong to some commitment-phobic serial dater who's never made it past four dates (according to the constant notifications he's getting from his fake dating profile).... And worse? I have a sinking feeling it's that hot suit-monkey with the arctic grey eyes I just had a run-in with at the airport. Somehow, I have to persuade him not to get a new phone until I get back. My whole life is on that phone. I knew I should have backed it up. It's only a few days. Surely, we can handle it.

Really sweet, funny and steamy...but...
Revisado: 04-20-21
Let me start with the pros: the story line was really great and had some laugh out loud moments along with some seriously steamy moments. Two damaged people just trying to get through life and then fate strikes with a phone swap from hell. Trystan and Emmy's chemistry was fun and flirty and just hilarious with so many steamy undertones. This is my first book read by either of the Narrators and they did an amazing job with these two (must find more read by them). The book was easy to listen to with up's and downs and hesitation and joy. Both characters were likable and I rooted for them...until the last few chapters
Spoiler....
Cons: OMG Emmy became a Bitch at the end. I understand not wanting to be hurt so there is fear and hesitation, we all go through that. But good lord the way she treated him and acted toward Trystan made me want him to walk away. For the first time ever i was hoping the H would walk out on the h. She was snippy and cruel and just made me cringe. I understand the whole pushing someone away in fear and saying hurtful things but hell she didn't even apologize! At the beginning i thought 'Wow two people who are scared and closed off that are learning to open up" at the end i thought 'God he deserves better then how she is treating him."
In Short - great Performance, good characters, good story line

I don’t care what other people think as long, as they leave me alone to focus on my research on soil microbiology. Plus, I walk with a cane thanks to a childhood accident. I have scars on my face. And if that isn’t enough to scare people off, my bad attitude and general grumpiness seal the deal. Which is just the way I like it. Except, I’ve been short listed for one of the most prestigious academic fellowships around. To win it, I’ll have to give a series of speeches. On a stage. With an audience. While being filmed.

WORTH EVERY CREDIT!!!!!!
Revisado: 04-13-21
I was looking for something sweet and not to angsty and boy did i find it! this book is absolutely wonderful and make me smile and laugh out loud more times then i could count. It was so sweet and listing to Max and Holy learn to understand each other made me all gooey as they reminded me so much of me and my husband. The author (Emma) did a wonderful job on this book and the narrators were spot on! All in all, this was worth every credit <3

My name is Quinn Dallen, and I’m something of a "local celebrity" in the small town of Montepelier, Idaho. You see, I am the first girl to ever make the high school football team. I went to college only to play football, and even though I never used my degree, I eventually got together a ragtag group of ladies: The Black Widows.

not a favorite
Revisado: 04-09-21
Let me start off by saying I love Enemies to Lovers and Sports Romance and this was a huge miss for me. Unfortunately the Narrators were a huge disappointment and made me cringe on more then one occasion during the story. Honestly I cringed quite a bit as their respective opposite sex voices were cringe worthy. The story it's self was okay but lacked any real character building, depth and happened way to fast for a Enemies to Lovers. One week they meet and there is a automatic rivalry and then the next week they are swooning over each other, it just didnt work for me. One small side note - Zeke, the H, is supposed to be from a Jewish family and as a Jew I was slightly annoyed as in the book he says his parents are against homosexuality because of their religion forbids it and his dad was a Pastor. My 2 problems with this are, Reform Judaism dose allow for homosexuality and is very open about that and saying its vehemently against it stuck in my craw. The author should have been more specific about the branch of Judaism the family was apart of. And Judaism has Rabbis, not Pastors.

Historia
There are only two ways a human can cross the gates of Bloodstone Institute: as a familiar to one of the Blueblood vampires who attend the elite school or as a snack. I'm neither, but I have to get in at all costs. My brother made a big mistake, and now I have to fix it by stealing from the most powerful and cruel vampire to ever come to Bloodstone, Lucca Della Morte. If that wasn't almost suicidal, I need to get it done before the spell concealing my human nature wears off.

Could have been more...
Revisado: 01-06-21
For me it all seemed so rushed. I understand that the characters are supposed to be drawn to each other but it all happens in just a few days and that just didn't hold true for how Vivian is supposed to feel about Vampires. I feel like there could have been so much more depth to certain scenes that would have meant more and built on the struggle Vivian was having instead of being so Luca-sentric. And, as mush as I LOVE Troy Duran's voice, his female characters made me cringe a few times.
