Character and Story that inspire you to want to keep listening. Jamie is very good at creating a fun adventure that draws you in. My only complaint is I have to wait for him to write the next book.

What a great ride!
Revisado: 03-13-23
Dennis E. Taylor makes his books stand out by having great characters. He knows how to right characters to be real and not boring. I love the Bobiverse and am constantly waiting for more but now I may have found a new little part of the Dennisverse that I want to explore more of. I know its a one and done book but it never hurts to hope.
If you like the Bobiverse then you will like this book. If you haven't read the Bobiverse books them this is a great way to know if investing into that series is for you. Don't get me wrong...they are different stories completely but the writing style is addictive.
Oh and Ray Porter kills it as usual with his performance.

Wow just WOW. I had a hard time listening at first because I couldn’t feel sorry for a guy who has/had it all. As the story progresses you realize he’s not looking for pity or redemption. He’s just telling his story and not being apologetic for his success yet being apologetic to all those who brought him that success that he feels he has let down. Matthew Perry is still one of my favorite celebs and this only solidified it. A great listen.

Way to many problems for one story
Revisado: 06-24-22
I enjoyed the first part of this book and the story line. About half way through I started to get depressed with how many things just went wrong for these people. I mean geez how many times do they have to be smacked down? by the time I was about 2/3's into the book I was forcing myself to listen because it just kept getting worse! I finally finished the book because I had to see if they actually made it....{Spoiler alert} They do but in the end it just gets worse. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone wanting an adventure. If you want to see how bad something can get and then get worse then this is the book for you.
Gotta give it to the narrators because they killed it. even with the depressing events continually happening they soldiered on and made the audiobook. RC Bray is one of my favorites. Normally I only want one narrator but the addition of Julia Whelan worked so well that I really enjoyed the performance aspect of this audiobook.
My opinion is just mine and I am sure that many people will love this book. I am not one of those. I can say that the writing style is easy to follow and interesting at points. I just wish I could have gotten over all the mishaps and bad luck.

Almost a 4 star but they pulled it off.
Revisado: 07-09-21
A little slow in the beginning but its worth the character development. Excited to see what happens next but dreading the wait for the next book to release.
Side note.... I am not a fan of having more then one narrator unless its done in a play performance manner. this is the first book that I feel it actually worked on. Both of the narrators were top notch and did an amazing job. I cant believe I am saying this but I hope they continue in the future books.
I am very familiar with Jamie's work but not Rachel's. This collaboration works well and I would recommend this book to fans of the genre and the authors. I can see this being a movie series.

What a great story
Revisado: 05-21-21
First I have to say Ray Porter is an amazing narrator. His performance was top notch.
Andy Weir has a good grasp of what hardcore science fiction fans want. The technical aspects are spot on and enough to make you think about the process and situation in a scientific method. The story and characters are so well designed you fall right into the story. I can’t wait to see what Andy comes up with next. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good thrill ride in space.

Simply delightful
Revisado: 01-22-19
I was a little apprehensive of this book at first but within the first 5 minutes I was hooked. I learned so much about a man who was such a huge part of the History of America. I am glad I gave this book a chance. Mark Twain is an incredible man. I guess I would compare him to Robert Burns of Scotland. He was a national treasure and his words are forever going to be a part of our history.
I highly recommend this book.

Hilarious and Entertaining from the beginning
Revisado: 07-20-18
This book is right up my time frame. Growing up in the 70's and 80's I can appreciate, understand and sympathize with his point of view concerning the differences between then and now. Not only is he hilarious to listen to but he becomes more personable and you feel more like you are hanging out with your buddy who is always making jokes.
If you do not enjoy David spades typical humor then this Audiobook isn't for you. On the other hand if you find him funny then you will love his witty banter and laugh inducing comparisons.
