Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

A Powerful and Complete Look into an Ugly World of Power and Corruption
Revisado: 12-12-22
I’d like to thank Ronin Farrow for writing this book. What he went through in outing the crimes of Harvey Weinstein was nothing short of torture, and I’m glad he names names of those who should be ashamed to ever show their faces in polite company.

Getting Tired of the Left Wing Talking Points
Revisado: 11-18-22
For the last few books, Baldacci is letting his left wing show. This time it’s the Russians and copious mentions of election interference. Knock that crap off, you’re ruining this series.

Tedious, boring, bloated and slow
Revisado: 08-12-21
This was an unrealistic and an interesting love letter to Communist Russia from Mr. Silva. We would be much better off with a Tom Clancy album or something by Vince Flynn.

Historia
Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child’s electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead. It wasn’t the welcome Reacher expected. He was just passing through, minding his own business. But within minutes of his arrival a deputy is in the hospital and Reacher is back in Hope.

Lee Child goes Left Wing
Revisado: 07-17-21
Anti-war, anti-Christianity. I expected better from Jack Reacher and was disappointed with more left-wing dribble. Child is no Vince Flynn.

Cautionary Tale About Answering Your $@&/?! Phone!
Revisado: 02-20-21
Almost every bad thing that happens in this very well acted and produced short play could have been avoided if people would have just answered their phone and/or promptly listened to voicemails. Also, listening to people instead of cutting them off is a good character trait and might just save their life and yours. Other than reminding me too much of my wife when I’m trying to reach her, this was entertaining but a bit too close to the plot of psycho. Now, answer your phone, Karen!

Good as Always, One Big Error
Revisado: 12-21-20
There is a point in the book where a Beretta doesn’t fire, which Reacher attributes to worn out magazine springs. Except that in order to fire at all, it would need one in the chamber, which would fire regardless of whether the next round feeds or not. Rare factual error for Child.

Enough with smart people doing dumb things
Revisado: 12-10-20
I literally HATE the feeling you get when reading a book and the formerly smart character does something completely stupid. This book, unfortunately, follows that same path. Let’s see, you are almost killed by a serial killer when you were 14 and he got away. This same guy sends you mementoes in the mail even when you move (so he knows where you live) and you carry absolutely no defensive weapons on you at all and you haven’t even learned any basic self defense. Then you go walking alone when you have a feeling something is wrong. Just plain unbelievable.
The ready of the story is interesting and aside from the above gripes, the characters are somewhat interesting. But Mike, seriously, enough with the dumb hero’s/heroines. If you want them in that kind of situation, make it something more believable. No one that close to dying in that way will go anywhere unarmed, especially someone who works at the FBI.

Hate Stupid Protagonists? Skip This Book
Revisado: 11-23-20
I wish there was a line item on every book description that said: “Is the protagonist of this book stupid?: Yes (or no)”. I for one cannot stand the dumb ones, and it ruins every book that has one. The Ex-Wife is no different. Natasha must be the dumbest woman on the planet, and you will find yourself speeding up the story to get to the end when she really starts behaving like a moron. Only really redeeming quality is the narration, but the problem there is you can’t tell the voice difference between any of the women characters. There’s a plot reason for it, though.

Predictable, Juvenile, Annoying
Revisado: 09-20-20
Don’t waste your time with this juvenile piece of writing. It would barely excite a junior audience, and the story has so many predictable elements that you’ll be wishing it would just hurry up and end already. You’ll hate the protagonist by the end of this as well.

Not a Standalone Book
Revisado: 08-17-20
Where to begin? How about there's no ending for this book. Like others, I was shocked when the narrator announced the book was over. It's basically a part 1 of a larger story, I guess, but Koontz's treatment of his characters here is so bad, I don't want to read any more, and I don't really care what happens. The idea for the story is very good - a nefarious conspiracy to mind control people - but its execution here is just poor. Great characters die for no reason, people run and escape only to be caught later, making their run pointless, our heroine take stupid chances and misses obvious opportunities (shoot the TV, stupid!). It was not an enjoyable read.
