I honestly grabbed this book because of one of the reviews. It said “i was instantly sucked in from the beginning”….. no… just no. The story jumps right in which normally im fine with but it was honestly confusing because there was no fleshing out along the way. One minute she’s super sad because someone died and it seems almost romantic but again who knows because that wasn’t fleshed out then she’s consumed with rage a few chapters later about the person who might have killed that person then there hooking up in a library… its a no for me

What happened…. This series started out strong then the previous book to this one started a downward spiral and this book was a dumpster fire. I started out loving the lead female character at the beginning of the series, she had so much potential but ended up being a weak character who killed out of nowhere and ran around doing what her dad wanted. It was a mess and I didn’t even finish this book out of disappointment. It was like i was reading two different story lines and the plot disappears in this book. It was a mess

Review for full series
Revisado: 07-10-23
Let me start by saying this was a good series but not one ill be jumping to read agin. It started out really strong with great characters building and overall the books were a good read so if you’re looking for a series to read definitely read this one. My only problem with this series was that the main female character didn’t develop like id hoped and the ending just kind of flopped. I would have liked her to really come into her powers more and maybe even seen her and arch angle Michaels daughter play a more prominent power role instead of them just playing catch up and feeling like they were just little girls playing with power they didn’t understand. The lead up felt like they we’re going to be power houses but it flopped with the ending. Over all this was a good series but it could have been so much more.

Historia
Valerie Darkmore’s entire life has been building up to this moment - her initiation into the Marionettes, the prestigious league of witches sworn to serve the vampires. As one of the last remaining blood witches, her spot is almost guaranteed. At least, so she’d thought. The academy is full of sabotage and secrets as the tasks begin, and Valerie quickly realizes she has more than her spot on the line. Her survival seems just as uncertain. The closer she gets to the final trial, the more she learns everything - and everyone - around her isn’t quite what it seems.

NOT like vampire academy
Revisado: 06-09-23
So let me start by saying its not horrible but i dont think id read this series agin. Theres not anything that really hooks you in and there are alot of story threads that either needed fleshing out or cutting. I like a strong leading female and I grew tired of her being taken, needing saving, and surviving multiple torcher sessions only for the story thread to flop and have no climax. her surviving torture is what made her strong not the fact that she’s supposed to be this immensely powerful blood witch.

After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds. I was sure everything would be okay if I had them. It wasn’t. The fate of our people is in my hands, and I know we’re better off if I’m alone. After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now, I’m not so sure.

This is a review for the over all series
Revisado: 04-11-23
Let me start by saying iv read a lot worse but WAY WAY better. The first 4 books were really good and kind of sucked you in while the character building was happening but then the series fell flat and I mean fell hard. It felt like the story was trying to be stretched to fill more books and it lost its meat and potatoes and just turnt into filler crap like tofu 💁🏻♀️😂. The main character became whiny, her bonds and herself, continuously second-guessed there bonds no matter how many times it was made clear or stated otherwise. She starts caring a gun like shes a bad ass but there was never any evidence of gun training or her ever using one and her bond called her out on it . It was like the author couldn’t decide if she wanted her to be the victim or a bad ass and it just fell short and became muddled. Then when the antagonist from the later books come in to play, there were so many times when the whole bond could’ve been taken out buy them but right when the bad guy had the killing blow they just walked away or some crap. Major plot holes and i could give a crap about dry wall and tile. Just saying. I try not to leave bad reviews but when I get so sucked into a book series only for that series to fall flat it is so irritating and this is a prime example of one of those. I wanted to love this series so bad but the last 3 books killed it. The narration was very good though

Fox, JJ, Chase, and Maverick. The four names tattooed onto my heart more permanently than any of the ink on my skin. They don’t just live in this town anymore, they rule it. And the view here may be beautiful, but the sun, sea and sand hide dark secrets. The gangs. The lies. The violence. It all lurks beneath a veil so thin that once you’ve seen through it, you can never close your eyes to the truth again. But I don’t plan on closing my eyes. I have four devils set in my sights. And this dead girl no longer has anything to lose.

Iv read this whole series and honestly it just drags on. It could have been put into 2 books. Nothing really happens but alot of monolog and no climax. Rogue which is the female lead talks a big game but never grows as a character ,flops and just depends on her men and i hate a weak female lead, I feel like her character could have developed into a strong main lead if she killed shawn during her captivity and became independent then took over his gang .The “bad guy” shawn sucks and could have been killed 10 times but for some reason keeps living and honestly this is probably my least favorite series from this author. I love her books but it just never really gets of the ground.

Revisado: 08-25-22
This book sucked…. The story drags with no real climaxes, the lead character who is supposed to be this bad ass fighter/ spy type is more like a normal girl with no training. The fae bad ass is the same. Then you have these “ rape” scenes thrown in trying to up the scale and all it does is muddy up the book more. This was probably the worst book iv ever read.

What started out as a strange assignment leads to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our time, and my friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike. Couple of problems in the way - I hate the Fae, and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing, egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate, and control me. Oh - did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae....

Yes or no?
Revisado: 06-23-22
Let me start off by saying is it worth the read yes but definitely not my favorite. So the main character it’s supposed to be this Guild assassin witch and threw out all of these books she only goes assassin bad ass once. I was really let down with the main character I love strong female leads and out of a four star rating she was probably a two. This book had a lot of smut and not so much storyline. Overall it’s not bad but it kind of drags on and then the second and third book I’m ready to just scream at the main character to find her back bone.

All Dahlia wanted was her freedom. But first, she needed to buy out of her promised bonding - a promise that was made for her before she was even born. Almost a century of trying had taken its toll, and she did some things she isn’t proud of. She lost parts of herself along the way and flirted with the darkness inside her...and it flirted back. Everything in her life systematically blew up in her face one piece at a time. Blaming it all on the beautiful, egotistical vampire who showed up in her life would be easy, but it started long before he arrived.
