Perhaps would have been better if someone else performed it

The voice leads the content, and the content tells the story. Unfortunately what I experienced with this book was a voice that oozed douchebag, think a motivational speaker that is also hooked on talking about themself.
This is the best review I can possibly give of this book. After 3 chapters I searched for a book by Fran Lebowitz, hoping that she’d salvage the narrative of my five mile walk.

Not happy, but fascinating

I’ve read this book four times, and now audio. Amazing!

As I write this review I struggle with finding the right words to convey just how much this book has meant to me over the past 18 years. At the time of its release I too was facing my own emotional journey and found this book to be more than therapeutic in its reading. Now as I face another season of emotional times, I felt the words within this audiobook to fill me with a renewed sense of survival as I mount my own BMW R1200GS to make my way back to the east coast leaving so much behind here in the west, to a future of uncertainty. And now that the author has passed (Jan 7, 2020), his words echo with a new spirit of Carpe Diem, as we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
Long may his spirit live in my soul.
