Meryl Streep could narrate an old Sears catalog and I would listen to every moment. I loved this book. And I’ll be listening to it again and again.

Should be required reading

Dashed forever are any thoughts I’ve had over the years of visiting Russia. This book speaks out on the atrocities of corruption that led to the creation and international passage of the Magnitsky act, and why Vladimir Putin asked our president for his help (at the Helsinki press conference in 2017) in enabling Russian questioning of Bill Browder in exchange for giving Mueller access to several U.S. indicted Russians. Reading this book answered my questions about specific Russian motivation for interfering in our 2016 election.

A good book by an author who took great pains to keep his words respectful and honorable

This is not a book about President Trump, who is rarely mentioned at all until the last few chapters. Instead, Comey tells of his professional career focusing primarily on his years of government service. I learned a great deal. And I’m thankful he so quickly wrote of his experiences and most especially his perspectives and concerns for our country, present and future.

Marie Kondo’s book on steroids

If you’ve read and accomplished some of Marie Kondo’s recommendations in “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”, this book is the graduate course. While a bit repetitive at times, the repetitions are often great reminders/reinforcements. While I’m not going to go as minimalist as the author, this book pushed me to begin tossing out many things I’ve kept mostly because I️ felt guilty one way or another about them. And with this stuff went my guilt.

Fun easy read

This was my second Liana Moriarty book, both I listened to via Audible. The narrator is outstanding and the story was great. I’ll be reading more of Moriarty books.

Shallow characters. Predicable storyline.

I loved The Nightingale and I wanted to enjoy this book too. I developed a dislike of the two sisters early on; they seemed to me more like self-absorbed teenagers than adult women. And the ending, while touching, was fairly predictable.
