Historia
First published in Portuguese in 1968, Pedagogy of the Oppressed was translated and published in English in 1970. Paulo Freire's work has helped to empower countless people throughout the world and has taken on special urgency in the United States and Western Europe, where the creation of a permanent underclass among the underprivileged and minorities in cities and urban centers is ongoing. This 50th anniversary edition includes an updated introduction by Donaldo Macedo, a new afterword by Ira Shor, and many inspirational interviews.

Pedantic rantings of a Marxist who denounced Marx
Revisado: 03-03-25
The devil's best ruse was to convince the credulous that he didn't exist. Kleinman's fawning rhetoric cannot, unless deconstructed into an anthology version, hide that Friere's denunciation of Marx rings hollow and loud throughout this trope on instituting communist, humanist, anti-human hegemony, using indigenous peoples' angst and cherry-picked "voice" to enable organic insurrection against the ruling class. It all goes well, theoretically, until the godless communists are the ruling class repressing the people (counterrevolutionaries) to retain their tenuous grip on rule. Like every Marxian effort at national or global dominance ever begins, operates, and ends with murderous totalitarian brutality, Friere assures us that Dr. Che "The Bloodstained Thug" Guevarra loved the people so much that he killed masses of them - neither Kleinman nor Friere himself weigh us down with the reality that their beloved Che did it for their not loving them the correct way, like he did.

When a drug-addled Hunter Biden abandoned his waterlogged computer at a Mac repair shop in Delaware in the spring of 2019, just six days before his father announced his candidacy for the United States presidency, it became the ticking time bomb in the shadows of Joe Biden’s campaign.

Malinformed, mispronounced and sophomoric
Revisado: 10-08-20
This could be a nice 8th-grade round-up of ancient Levant geopolitics and societies, but the readers made listening painful and the authors should be encouraged to cite sources, especially when mischaracterizing scripture. Readers stalling at page breaks and commas, misusing travesty in place of tragedy, and the readers and authors generally not studying history before trying to write and read it are just some issues with this text. The authors go far out of their way to explain they are not using religious books as reference material, and then opine for pages on sick and perverse imaginations as to what scripture says, between the lines. Poor form. Poor, hack-ridden form. You all really need editors who don’t like you so much as it appears that your moms provided critical feedback for you. Humanists will particularly enjoy this “history” book.

Brilliant finish to a shining effort!
Revisado: 09-01-20
Mr. Smith's mastery of storytelling is herein done justice by Mr. Clarkson's performance. Having loved Tolkien's and The Inklings' as well as Richard Adams' archetypes, I find The Green Ember series a wonderful, captivating, and instructive extension of the art. My children, my bride, and my middle-aged self read with zeal and glee the adventures of valient, virtuous, and victorious humble beings. Thank you, SD and Joel. You have blessed my house and countless others. May you be blessed.

Our country is at war with itself. On one side are American patriots, dedicated to freedom under the Constitution; on the other side are leftists campaigning not just to win elections, but to radically transform the nation. In this political war for the soul of our country, America’s patriots need a strategist with a blueprint for victory. Luckily, we have such a man in Dr. Sebastian Gorka - a former strategist for President Trump and now a nationally syndicated radio host and a fearless culture warrior.

Revisado: 01-16-20
If you are left of or centrist politically, this is necessary oppo research.
If you are a middle-of-the-road American or just an inquisitive person concerned and wanting to know about US and global politics and how 2020 will effect the world we are leaving our kids, Mr. Gorka is an outsider with insider access and perspective necessary to reading the turn of the stitches on what is being pitched at you by what they claim is "The News"(TM). Erudite and accessible, and spot-on, point by point, Sebastian brings politics home, explains why our involvement and being wise as serpents yet gentle as doves is more critical than ever, and what to do about it! One point against:. the Appendix misses "Imprimis" from Hillsdale College.

Historia
Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States has sold over 2.5 million copies and is still required reading in some high school and college classrooms. But its polemic rewriting of American history as a story of oppression is an agenda-driven fairy tale that has no place in academia. In Debunking Howard Zinn, Mary Grabar debunks Howard Zinn’s lies and traces the damage his mega-bestseller has done to American education, culture, and politics.

Truth is a tough thing. Tougher for leftists.
Revisado: 12-31-19
Zinn was the archetype of the ideologue professoriate the CPUSA worked so hard to embed in our society. Grabar does due diligence, a craft never apparently attempted by the proselytizing Zinn, in showing what history is and why Zinn's take is not just an intentional lie but a despicable anti-American lie that should be presented in our schools along with this debunking as a demonstration of the desperate and base levels to which Progressive educators will go to debase US citizens' will and understanding of the amazing, humane, and ethical political/economic system of government we enjoy. This should be required reading for anyone so myopic as to cite Zinn.

Historia
The science fiction genre has become increasingly influential in mainstream popular culture, evolving into one of the most engaging storytelling tools we use to think about technology and consider the shape of the future. Along the way, it has also become one of the major lenses we use to explore important philosophical questions. The origins of science fiction are most often thought to trace to Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein, a story born from a night of spooky tale-telling by the fireside that explores scientific, moral, and ethical questions that were of great concern in the 19th century - and that continue to resonate today.

Well Presented Does Not Save This Lunacy
Revisado: 11-09-19
While I am sure Dr. Johnson put much effort and obviously imbued his deepest thoughts into this course, it is naïve, pedantic, and devoid of meaningful connection with the world outside the surreal realm of radio listeners from midnight to 5am. I could not finish as, just to keep this all in perspective, it shares the domain of Bill and Ted's Great Adventure's speech which ended, "Wyld Stallyn rules!!!"

No not read. Performed - and brilliantly! Zahn's story is compelling and does not rely on tawdry crutches of carnality or degrading language to put across a pithy page-turning narrative. Marc Thompson's treatment, with all the production backup of a big publishing house makes this not just an audio book but an event. save it for a cross-country family road trip.

Historia
The retired four-star general and and best-selling author of My Share of the Task shares a powerful new leadership model. Former General Stanley McChrystal held a key position for much of the War on Terror, as head of the Joint Special Operations Command. In Iraq, he found that despite the vastly superior resources, manpower, and training of the US Military, Al Qaeda had an advantage because of its structure as a loose network of small, independent cells. To defeat such an agile enemy, JSOC had to change its focus from efficiency to adaptability.

McChrystal Re-learns MacNamara
Revisado: 12-18-18
History being a repetetive thing, it is good to hear Stan quoting Sun Tzu, Adam Smith, and the NASA Archives. It is great hearing him dump on mindless Taylorist management. It would be nice to hear needed apologies to Nam vets and thousands of wounded and dead victims of US Grant-style drive-your-canon-fodder-underlings-into-the-meat-grinder warfare too many of McChrystal's era of leadership thought was apropos. Sad thing is Stan was learning lessons Mac paid for in (other people's) blood. Kudos. Stan has the candor to say something like that. Wouldn't a military who are allowed to learn teaming and leadership from Leviticus (teams of ten and not more, and a guidebook accessible and general to all) without all the bloodshed be a good thing? Maybe business can get the lesson... Maybe having it written in the Information Age will make it accessible to post-modern leaders. One can hope.

Historia
From Derek Hunter - one of the most entertaining political writers today - comes an insightful, alarming look at how progressives have took over academia, pop culture, and journalism in order to declare everything liberal great, and everything great, liberal. Progressives love to attack conservatives as anti-science, wallowing in fake news, and culturally backwards. But who are the real denialists here? There are three institutions in American life run by gatekeepers that have stopped letting in anyone who questions their liberal script: academia, journalism, and pop culture.

Polemics as art
Revisado: 07-25-18
Derek does a great job dragging out, lining up, and identifying corpses in the Culture War brought by the collectivist/PC/Progressive left who claim to be some kind of political center. Given that we are a nation founded with a Constitution specifically designed to thwart their assault on humanity in the very name of humanism, and protect the economic engine that has made them so well off they can hack away at it with rhetoric and initiative with relative impunity, the left need exposing. Mr. Hunter gets it done while expressing true pathos for those left, right, and center who are, too often literally, maimed, wounded, or even killed by the lies of the left. Even moreso, he sounds alarm and invites refugees who, if they come from the indoctrination mills, can see the truths herein and come out of that regressive anti-American, anti-human, anti-anything-not-hard-left-and-leaning-further mess that is the American left.
