Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

This book truly touched my heart. It was very encouraging and inspiring. It has encouraged me in my journey of passing on my faith to my children and others that I love. So grateful for this book. I’ll likely listen to it a few more times to glean the nuggets that I may have initially missed. And I’ve passed it along to other moms to read as well.

Overall I enjoyed the book. Hoped for a happier ending (sorry to spoil it). I gave it 4 stars because there were aspects that I didn’t understand why it was covered in so much detail and wanted things to be wrapped up in a pretty bow at the ends which didn’t happen.

Colin Powell is the embodiment of the American dream. He was born in Harlem to immigrant parents from Jamaica. He knew the rough life of the streets. He overcame a barely average start at school. Then he joined the Army. The rest is history - including Vietnam, the Pentagon, Panama, and Desert Storm - but a history that until now has been known only on the surface.

This is Great if you only want insight into his career! But lacking a great deal if you want to learn anything more about Colin Powell. I have high regard for him and really wanted to get more insight into him as a person and his journey in life. This book provided very little glimpse into him as a person :-(

Good info, but very long
Revisado: 04-09-21
There was some very good information in this book. As the wife of an entrepreneur, I found it helpful and full of pragmatic ideas that we can use in our relationship. However, it was very looong.
It definitely has helped me to understand my husband better, and I feel it will have a long lasting positive impact on my marriage. I would have given it 5 stars had it just been more succinct.

Bad choice for narrator

The narrator was so difficult to listen to that I couldn’t make it beyond 1 hour, even after multiple attempts. Enjoyed the story though. Found another version that is easier to listen to.
