Historia
The book draws its inspiration from stoicism, the ancient Greek philosophy of enduring pain or adversity with perseverance and resilience. Stoics focus on the things they can control, let go of everything else, and turn every new obstacle into an opportunity to get better, stronger, tougher. As Marcus Aurelius put it nearly 2000 years ago: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

a long winded way to say "suck it up"
Revisado: 10-09-24
have adversity in your life? Just overcome it. there, I just saved you time and trouble of having to slog through this banal collection of anecdotes and substance light repackaging of overprocessed stoicism.

Historia
For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently - and far less seriously - than its male counterpart. That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them.

only really ment for the female gender
Revisado: 03-08-24
it was a good insight into better understanding the female genitalia and dispelling myth and setting things up in a great way. I was hoping for a male perspective on helping with understanding both sides of the issue but it was barely present and lacked any meaningful insight. a good read, but I was lead to believe this was advise for both genders, not just one.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

unlikable character, decent concept
Revisado: 05-11-23
I liked the concept, and the writing and performance were great. the story and character, on the other hand, become more unlikable as the story progresses. He becomes virtually invincible and more insufferable throughout as he goes from a scared, vulnerable traveler in a strange world to a smug know-it-all who could care less about the people he meets. His motivations evaporate and become replaced by a boring power fantasy with no risk and minimal stakes.

Historia
The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. An eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet, encountering dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and, of course, 'The Edge' of the planet.

terrible audio quality
Revisado: 05-31-22
a great debut of rimworld by the great Terry Prachett which unfortunately suffers from terrible background static that hampers the audio quality.

Historia
N8-C, better known as Nate, has been Manhattan Hasbro Hospital's resident robot for more than 20 years. A prototype, humanoid in appearance, he was created to interact with people. While some staff accepted working alongside an anthropomorphic robot, Nate's very existence terrified most people, leaving the robot utilized for menial tasks and generally ignored. Until one of the hospital's physicians is found brutally murdered with Nate standing over the corpse, a blood-smeared utility bar clutched in his hand.

okay, if you can get past the author's didacticism
Revisado: 06-14-18
It starts out fairly interesting. it quickly becomes overshadowed by the authors motives which are to preach their personal moral philosophy.
