Following the devastating attack on Yaresh, its people are left to pick up the pieces. The city lies in ruins, but its decimated defenders have more to deal with than just reconstruction. Jason's actions during the battle have brought unwelcome attention from allies and enemies alike. While the adventurers question his loyalty, the messengers question his very nature. The humor in the face of adversity
Revisado: 12-04-23
If you have made it this far to get to book 10 you won't be disappointed. All the elements of the prior books that you love are all present. The thing I hate most about this series is I have to wait a year for the next book. When a new one comes out it feels like Christmas and when I'm finished it feels like the holiday is over.

Love the series and can’t wait for more
Revisado: 02-26-23
If you have made it this far in the series then you are hooked like I am. It’s a little slower then the others but it feels like the transition book that take it into the 3 level. Books 1-3 are Jason’s introduction to the magical world. Books 4-6 are him on earth and the flushing out the connection between the two worlds and 7-9 will be what feels like the rounding out of the story. I’m here for all of it and can’t wait until book .

Interesting story bad writing
Revisado: 12-16-19
So I have listened to this and the 1st book. Very interesting story and characters but the writing is a little juvenile and he repeats himself to often. That being said it pulls you in and I’m moving onto the 3rd book b/c I do want to know what happens next. Fluff but fun.

F.uck!!! When is the next book coming!
Revisado: 04-21-17
I loooooove this book and when it ended I yelled in my car "f.uck when is the next book coming?" I think this more then anything tells you should listen to the 1st book and buy this one at the same time. The narrator does a perfect job of changing all the voices of the character, especially since 80% of them are clones of the same character.

I write software at a San Francisco startup. I have my dream job, but I also have a secret. We are not alone. The last time I was taken I was 14. Three weeks ago I celebrated my 21st birthday, and I know that the grey men will soon come again. I devoted my life to technology so I'd be ready when they returned. Revisado: 06-28-16
I have listen to most of Chris Fox's books and always sad when I'm done. If you are just discovering him then you are very lucky. Start with No such thing as wear wolfs and go thorough that series then start this book. It will give you a great understand and appreciation for this very good book. Also you can buy the 1st three of wear wolfs as a group which is great. Enjoy!!

It's sad what they did with this series
Revisado: 06-24-16
I love Robert Parker and loved the Cole & Hitch combo. But since Parker passed this series has fallen off significantly. It was a western with no gun fights. The dialogue dragged and was uninspired. Please get a new author to pick up this series and pretty please bring back the original narrator. Rex Linn is probably good but terrible with these character!!

Good but not as good as the 1st book
Revisado: 10-13-15
I enjoyed both this and the 1st book Power of the Dog. Both are long books but you don't feel it. They follow the main characters, a DEA agent and a drug kingpin during their rise to power, their brief friendship and eventually their all out war with each other. The book as enough historical reference that you can tell that these men and the other characters are based on real people and real events. You get a true insight to what life for them and the terror the people in Mexico have lived through during this periods. Very eye opening! Defiantly worth the credits. But get "Power" 1st!

Historia
Were the Egyptian gods fanciful imaginings of primitive people or something more? Some believe they once walked the Earth as mortals, that they warred and loved just as any of their worshippers. This is their story--the tale of how Isis gained the power of shaping. How mighty Osiris died and lived again. How they discovered the fabled First Ark, a structure older than man. It is the tale of us all, the story that shaped our race from cave dwellers into the people we are today.

I enjoyed this book although it was way to short. I have read the 1st two books which I loved. If your like me and read the other books then this is just a little bite to hold you over until the author finishes the last book.

Historia
Smokey Dalton and Jimmy, the young boy he protects, have settled into a new life on Chicago’s South Side. But when Smokey gets hired to investigate the death of a black man in a local park, he realizes that the murder might not be an isolated case. The Chicago Police Department doesn’t really investigate black deaths, particularly near the South Side. Smokey thinks the case easy, until he digs deeper into the history of the area, a history that includes gangs, racism, and secrets so dark they threaten his very existence.

Revisado: 04-23-15
I have listed to all the books up to this point and just downloaded the next. The character are richly drawn and you get a true feel of what it was like to be black in the late 1960s. smokey dalton, the main character is a complicated man who lives and helps people in a way that show complicated man who helps people both inside and outside the law. It's worth the listen I'm sure you will enjoy it.
