Second time around a day later!
Revisado: 09-14-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Death and the Redheaded Woman to be better than the print version?
no idea, but it is really good.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Only halfway, but it had some very good twists
What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Attitude.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wouldn't say an extreme reaction, but I stopped what I was doing several times to focus, and had a tough time turning it off. Listening to it again today, I was just looking for the next one.
Any additional comments?
I probably enjoy stories with characters who are not the super-rich, sort of getting by. No weird sex, no one doing stuff to be self-destructive. Heck, that should get some of you to try it!

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Way more action that expected!
Revisado: 07-17-15
What made the experience of listening to A Man Called Ove the most enjoyable?
How can someone say so much with so few words? I got the whole feeling from this, I know people like Ove. (I may be one, to some degree.)
Who was your favorite character and why?
The old man, of course. A total crab but also a man of action, far more than I expected.
I wound up liking all of the characters, the real ones.
Which scene was your favorite?
Wow, that is a tough question. Maybe when the young Ove took care of business. There were no bad scenes, little touches that kept things going, sweet and sour at the same time.
I wish I could explain how much I enjoyed this book, it is certainly worth your time.
If you could rename A Man Called Ove, what would you call it?
Ove takes No Crap.
Any additional comments?
If you need a little action with your character study, if you can't stand a lot of unnecessary yammering and enjoy a wacky sense of purpose, give this one a try. I'm listening to it again tomorrow.

Getting the others now!
Revisado: 05-31-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would. I did rewind it a time or two just so I didn't miss anything.
What did you like best about this story?
The descriptions were lively and clear, but not over-long, at no time did I think "just get to it already!" I could really visualize the action while I worked.
Which scene was your favorite?
Oh, in the lab, when she meets the scientist.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Did it in a day, I had to stop it to talk to clients.
Any additional comments?
I am glad I can continue the series tomorrow. The only bad thing is I don't like the cover art, it's a poor depiction of Lady Clare.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

A new way to rate
Revisado: 12-26-13
What made the experience of listening to Doctor Sleep the most enjoyable?
I do a LOT of audiobooks, and now I have a new way to rate. How many "Oh, ****!" moments are there? I can't keep count on Doctor Sleep. (I do NOT like the title but smarter folks than me picked it.)
What was one of the most memorable moments of Doctor Sleep?
My head is still spinning. I can't tell you, there were many that made me stop what I was doing. I may listen to The Shining again and then this right after.
What does Will Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I was just thinking, whoever got Will to do this was a genius, I love him in the James Lee Burke series but this may even be better. He really brought all the characters right into my head, without being overpowering at any time. No one was more of a standout, it was all very smooth and creepy in the right spots. (Wait, that hateful bitch may have been over the top a little but LOOK at her!)
I got the shivers more than once.
If you could rename Doctor Sleep, what would you call it?
Ah HA! I'm not the only one, eh? Can I get back to you on this? Something to do with the train, maybe. Or the Overlook, I don't know. Lots to choose from.
Any additional comments?
I told 3 friends about it and in days I got notes back that they were totally hooked on it, wondering how they had missed this one. The title may have something to do with it. I gotta tell you, I was worried when the end of the second part was approching, I was not near my house and was afraid I had not put in the last part! I might have stopped shoeing and gone home, but it was on my player, disaster averted again.
Off to listen to Duma Key again....maybe now my second favorite King book.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I might put it in the top 10 percent. And I do LOT of audiobooks.
What did you like best about this story?
One brilliant line. It's worth the time just for that one line!
Which scene was your favorite?
Wow, well, maybe the first bad dream, or the introduction of the wall? There were several times I stopped and re-wound to make sure what I was hearing!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Nope, I wanted to piece it out and really enjoy it. It's very elaborate and complex, and full of great imagery. Don't miss a word, you guys.
Any additional comments?
I'm so glad I got it, I really would be surprised if anyone does not like it. I'm working from payday to payday, too, so the first part really got to me, and was hard to get through. I know that neighborhood, too, and thoroughly enjoyed that aspect. The idea of so many curious folks still in this world just kills me, it's a true adventure story.

Seth Grahame-Smith delivers the definitive, essential guide to making it through a horror movie in one piece. As hilarious as it is useful (if you’re trapped in a scary flick, that is), How to Survive a Horror Movie covers all the bases. Trapped in a haunted house? Check. Stalked by an evil doll? Check. Wandering aimlessly through the remains of the old world as a plague of zombies sweeps over the planet? Check.

Revisado: 01-02-13
Would you try another book from Seth Grahame-Smith and/or Johnny Heller?
Oh sure, I like the novels ok. Loved Lincoln. I was just expecting to really laugh out loud and it never got to that point.
Would you recommend How To Survive a Horror Movie to your friends? Why or why not?
probably not, unless they were already a fan.
What three words best describe Johnny Heller’s voice?
Unforgettable? Regular guy? I can't remember it being outstanding in any way.
Was How To Survive a Horror Movie worth the listening time?
So-so.
Any additional comments?
I'm glad I didn't pay full price, it was ok but not something I thought about later at all, didn't find it all that funny or interesting. And I LOVE the idea of it. Sorry!

Historia
This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

I'm telling everyone about it.
Revisado: 11-12-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Zombie Fallout to be better than the print version?
I think so, Sean captures Talbot, his timing is outrageous, and his voice sounds like I think Talbot looks. So often the narrator gets in the way but not in this series! I hope he enjoyed doing it as much as I like hearing him. Really, I wish I could express how much I enjoyed this one, raced to the second and now I'm going thru some of the other zombie ones I got on the sale. Very dull in comparison to my ear.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Zombie Fallout?
Saving Henry, of course, and Tommy's revelation. I mean the first big one, his friend. (I forget which story is in which book, I'm glad to be doing this before I finish the series.) Being a bulldog person, having Henry in here just adds a full extra layer in my opinion.
Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Just the next book in the series but I am going to look up more of his stuff, believe me. Hopefully it's not sappy romances....he is SO great doing Talbot.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Probably when Bear did his thing, I don't want to give it away but if you are a dog person, you will fully appreciate it. I had to stop what I was doing and sit down for a minute.
Any additional comments?
I'ms so happy to have found this series, it's far FAR better than I could have expected. If you like a little humor and human flaws in your end of the world books, take a look here. I got better headphones so I could mow while listening, bathed dogs, shod horses, and just had a tough time turning it off! I hope you guys like it too. Where can I email Tufo?

It's even harder for a robot named Mack Megaton, a hulking machine designed to bring mankind to its knees. But Mack's not interested in world domination. He's just a bot trying to get by, trying to demonstrate that he isn't just an automated smashing machine, and to earn his citizenship in the process. It should be as easy as crushing a tank for Mack, but some bots just cant catch a break.

What if a reality TV show like Jersey Shore set up production in the fictional seaside resort Sea Haven? What if hitting the gym, tanning, and doing a little laundry aren't the only things the contestants get into? By-the-book officer John Ceepak and his wisecracking young partner, Danny Boyle, have to babysit the buff and boozy kids partying it up in a Jersey shore rental house for TV’s summertime hit Fun House while simultaneously trying to stop the rowdy kids from breaking the law up and down the beach. But even Ceepak and Danny can’t stop one young cast member from being murdered—and others from being threatened with the same fate.

Revisado: 06-25-12
If you could sum up Fun House in three words, what would they be?
Take advantage now.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not so much as some of the others, but those were really outstanding.
What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ha! Those accents this time. Oh, what a hoot. I could picture every one of the characters in vivid detail, without being beaten over the head by the voices.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I always have good laughs with Chris's books.
