At thirteen, desperate to hook up with Janis Joplin, he attended his aunt Joan Didion and uncle John Gregory Dunne’s legendary LA launch party for Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. Boring story and performance.
Revisado: 07-20-24
This was difficult to get through. It was very boring. The story was boring. Didn’t really seem to have a point and the performance was also really difficult to get through.

Ridiculous, Dated and Self Glorifying
Revisado: 10-04-23
Im sorry I wasted a credit on this. I have to say I enjoyed her last book but this was just silly and very hard to believe. I disappointed a multi millionaire would advise other moms on how to behave and keep it all together. This book is the opposite of what our society needs right now. This book is a huge step backwards for women and moms. To all moms that have listened to this, keep in mind she has endless resources even though she claims she isn’t using them. You do NOT have to hold up to any of these ridiculous dated standards.

Historia
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time.

Historia
Rosie Perez first caught our attention with her fierce dance in the title sequence of Do the Right Thing and has since defined herself as a funny and talented actress who broke boundaries for Latinas in the film industry. What most people would be surprised to learn is that the woman with the big, effervescent personality has a secret straight out of a Dickens novel. At the age of three, Rosie’s life was turned upside down when her mentally ill mother tore her away from the only family she knew and placed her in a Catholic children’s home in New York’s Westchester County.

Questionable
Revisado: 04-11-23
Not sure I believe most of this. She’s the sweet victim and everyone else in the story is the bad person. Doesn’t seem realistic.

Boring nonsense.
Revisado: 01-20-23
Clearly fake and created to favor Camilla. It’s such arrogant pompous nonsense. The narrator is beyond boring as well.

This book has very Self hating vibes.
Revisado: 02-22-22
I didn’t like this at all. At first I thought it was supposed to be funny but soon realized it’s very hateful and sarcastic, but not in a good way.
