When Olivia Rawlings - pastry chef extraordinaire for an exclusive Boston dinner club - sets not just her flambéed dessert but the entire building alight, she escapes to the most comforting place she can think of - the idyllic town of Guthrie, Vermont, home of Bag Balm, the country's longest-running contra dance, and her best friend, Hannah. But the getaway turns into something more lasting when Margaret Hurley, the cantankerous, sweater-set-wearing owner of the Sugar Maple Inn, offers Livvy a job.

A Bit of a Struggle
Revisado: 10-03-21
Although some may love this book, there were aspects that I didn't appreciate. I realize the narrator may have been endeavoring for a specific accent, but it didn't seem Bostonian. The way she pronounced words such as Hannah, band, and dance drove me crazy the entire book.
The sex scenes and bad language were unnecessary. And the main characters had major character flaws. Had I known these things going in, I would not have wasted a credit. And do we have to know ad nauseum how the men smell?!
That said, there was a sweet surprise near the end that added a great deal of redemption.

Beautiful Story of Faith Amid Trials and Testing
Revisado: 02-13-21
Although it must be said that this is not a book for the squeamish, it must also be stated that one's perseverance will be rewarded.
This book contains many details of pain, suffering, multiple surgeries, hope, loss, such that sometimes I was tempted not to finish.
But I kept reminding myself that someone I know endured all of this. Surely writing this was cathartic. It is inspirational that Sheila's spirit at times was beaten down, yet she persevered, and still does to this day.
Her testimony will help strengthen your faith. It is a solid book, well-narrated by the author.

It’s the perfect time to curl up in front of a crackling fire with these wintry whodunits from the legendary Agatha Christie. But beware of deadly snowdrifts and dangerous gifts, poisoned meals and mysterious guests. This chilling compendium of short stories - some featuring beloved detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple - is an essential omnibus for Christie fans.

Historia
After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Historia
With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

This book is life-changing. Rosaria is like a modern-day Paul, instructing us in ways to live out the Gospel. I am 60, and it is just what I needed. I hope to begin a women's Bible study on this book
