Historia
It's the influencer's golden rule: Know your niche. Kit Kidding has found hers on Instagram, where she gets paid to promote brands and share expertly curated posts about her fun, fabulous, child-free life. Kit likes kids just fine, but she passionately believes that women who choose not to become mothers shouldn't have to face guilt. Or judgement. Or really hot chefs who turn out to be single dads.

Revisado: 01-13-25
I liked the concept of pulling the curtain back on influencers and the overall plot line, but I thought this was a bit rushed-feeling and oversimplified. The characters were more like caricatures, which made it hard to get immersed in the story.

Got about an hour in and wasn't interested. Normally wouldn't be a problem, but since Audible changed its return policy, I was unable to return it since I didn't use a credit. listened to the whole thing hoping it would get better, but overall it wasn't my cup of tea.

Set in a Lower East Side tenement in the early days of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Fourteen Days is an irresistibly propulsive collaborative novel from the Authors Guild, with an unusual twist: each character in this diverse, eccentric cast of New York neighbors has been secretly written by a different, major literary voice—from Margaret Atwood and John Grisham to Tommy Orange and Celeste Ng.

Unique and engaging - this one will stick with me.
Revisado: 03-14-24
Truly one of the most unique books I've come across in a long while. I'm not generally attracted to collab books, as I feel like different writing styles will be apparent and interrupt the flow of the story. However, this was expertly done in a way that emphasized and celebrated the different writing styles by having each character written by a different author. The entire book is a series of short stories, but because they are woven together so well, it feels like a cohesive novel. Some of the individual stories were less interesting to me than others, but knowing that one plot wouldn't take over the book made it easy to keep going. Really glad I stumbled over this one - I feel like it will stay with me for a long time.

Based on the premise, I was hoping for more of the story to revolve around food. The plot was nice, but kind of repetitive.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

Effective twist made the story worth it
Revisado: 02-13-20
I have to say I wasn't a fan of the main character for much of the book, but I kept listening because the story was interesting and I wanted to see where it would go. I'm generally one who can see "the twist" coming and thought I had it figured out long before I came upon it. That was true for part of the story, but I was glad more came later that I wasn't expecting. Would recommend.

This is such a fantastic look at real-world applications of math in multiple different areas, and of course, what can go wrong. It was funny and generally entertaining, and left me with a list of things I wanted to go research more. This book is great for both math nerds and people who aren't great at math - no prerequisites required!

Historia
Author Thomas Erikson explains that there are four key behavior types that define how we interact with and perceive the people around us. Understanding someone’s pattern of behavior is the key to successful communication. Erikson breaks down the four kinds of behavior types - Reds who are dominant and commanding, Yellows who are social and optimistic, Greens who are laid-back and friendly, and Blues who are analytical and precise - and explains how to identify and interact with each type of person.

I've heard of similar ways to explain behavior before, but this was a little different. Still, it was pretty accurate, and I could see people I knew in each of the colors. Definitely would recommend if you are looking to improve work relationships.
