Historia
The execution of a Vatican archivist within the shadow of the Kremlin exposes a conspiracy going back three centuries—to the bloody era of the Russian Tsars. Before his murder, he manages to dispatch a coded message, a warning of a terrifying threat, one tied to a secret buried within the Golden Library of Tsars, a vast and treasured archive that had vanished into history.

I love the setting
Revisado: 09-09-24
The setting at the North Pole and learning more about its mythology was great. The story felt quick and to the point which made for an action packed quick read.

Very interesting penultimate book
Revisado: 05-22-24
This book had a lot of interesting character arcs. I listened to it in just over 2 days and couldn’t stop. It feels like it was setting up for an epic finale which I can’t wait to listen to when it comes out.

Historia
It is 1454, and for over a year King Henry VI has remained all but exiled in Windsor Castle, struck down by his illness, his eyes vacant, his mind a blank. His fiercely loyal wife and queen, Margaret of Anjou, safeguards her husband's interests, hoping that her son, Edward, will one day come to know his father. With each month that Henry is all but absent as king, Richard, the duke of York, protector of the realm, extends his influence throughout the kingdom.

Great story of perseverance
Revisado: 09-14-23
Once I started this book on audible, I couldn’t stop listening. This story was an incredible adventure that reminded me of how tough life was for some and how strong and brave they were to push through it all.
The narration was flawless as well. Will did a great job capturing each of the characters.

Historia
The Titan Project—an international research station off the coast of Australia—discovers a thriving zone of life in an otherwise dead sea. The area teems with a strange bioluminescent coral that defies science, yet holds great promise for the future. But the loss of a military submarine in the area triggers a brutal attack and sets in motion a geological disaster that destabilizes an entire region. Massive quakes, volcanic eruptions, and deadly tsunamis herald a greater cataclysm to come—for something is stirring miles under the ocean, a threat hidden for millennia.

I really enjoyed this one. Rollins had the perfect amount of detail to make it feel exciting and educational at the same time without feeling boring. I love Baskous’ voice narrating this series as well.

Close but not quite true to the originals
Revisado: 07-08-23
This was a good attempt at carrying on the story of the Oregon and her crew, but a little too much of the new authors style was added in.
The nice part about the Cussler series is that some violence was implied, but never graphic. This book had quite a few graphically violent parts. I liked to have these on with the kids in the car, but I can’t do that if this continues.
There were also several instances where we would learn the details about a new character for 5 minutes only for them to be immediately killed. Overall, there were just a few too many overly descriptive parts that were drug out with unneeded detail. I blame this more on the editor than the author though.
The framework of the story was good, but this series continues to move away from what made it great: Juan was a compassionate warrior that never delighted in death but the last couple of books have strayed from that.
I just hope they return the characters to the personalities that drew so many readers to them.

Fantastic

This book was fantastic from the first word to the last word of the epilogue. The narrator was fantastic and really makes you feel at times like you are in WW2 Italy. I’ll set myself a reminder to listen to it again in a few years.

Historia
Many Christian books talk about sexual issues within broader works on marriage, but few resources comprehensively and biblically guide couples specifically on sexual intimacy. God, Sex, and Your Marriage challenges the common assumptions couples have about sexuality and presents the richer biblical narrative of sex as a metaphor of God’s covenant love. Dr. Juli Slattery applies that biblical framework to the practical challenges in sexual intimacy. Godly sexuality extends far beyond sexual purity and calls us to sexual integrity.

Great audiobook
Revisado: 05-29-23
I absolutely loved this audiobook version. As this topic has been something often discussed in our marriage, this book gave a great philosophical outline while still giving details on how to approach sex in your marriage.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking to make this area of your marriage better.

When Juan Cabrillo fails to capture the leader of Mexico’s most dangerous drug cartel and loses an Oregon crew member in the process, he’s determined to get revenge. Little does he know that the explosion he just narrowly escaped was merely the latest flash of violence from a machine of war that has existed for decades, dating from the bloodiest episode in Armenia’s history.

Close, but not close enough
Revisado: 02-23-23
I have been following the Oregon Files from the beginning and it is by far my favorite series. The new author had huge shoes to fill and unfortunately came up just short.
The story arc and action sequences were really good, but he failed to capture what makes this series so great: the team and Juan’s stoicism.
Do I regret the purchase? No. Am I let down that one of my favorite characters of any series was drastically changed from someone who always let reason overcome emotions, very much so.
Hopefully if there is another one, we can get back to viewing this series as about the crew and Juan as the leader he was before.
Last note: Scott Brick was great as always so the audible version is always the way to go when he narrates.

Very entertaining
Revisado: 05-25-22
This book was very entertaining and told the story of Phil fairly with highlights of both his best attributes highlighted as well as his biggest flaws.
While the narration was not a typical Audible experience, I did appreciate the emphasis that the writer brought to certain parts and enjoyed his fast paced telling of the book.
