Historia
Ingway is a being of many names: Death God, Reaper, Ferryman, He-Who-Comes-When-The-Last-Sigh-Leaves. He is a figure of terror and mystery, riding through shadows, leading the dead to the halls of judgment. Ominous and cold, even to his fellow gods. Join this strange and soft-voiced god, this being with the wrath of the universe bound in his aching soul, as he drifts closer and closer to the edge of rebellion, as he lingers longer among the souls he is meant only to reap—as he draws closer to the goddess Mercy and learns to love.

This quality production displays artistry at its best. The music and multi character voices are all well chosen and make this a delightful and entertaining listen. The author’s poetic prose enhances the mythical and allegorical style for the story. Deep meaning of life origins, existence, power, relationship, and afterlife are the drums that beat a constant rhythm throughout the story.
Readers who enjoy CS Lewis’s Until We Have Faces: A Myth Retold will appreciate The Fall of Ingway.

A Page-Turner Delightful Fantasy
Revisado: 02-17-24
The duo voice actors for this novel were fantastic. This male/female team for this weighty novel made it easy and enjoyable to follow the multi-POV. Every chapter begins with naming the POV character and sometimes a new POV is named at chapter breaks. So, pay attention to these details, especially at the chapter beginnings when the dates and locations are also given.
The writing style of this novel is tight and action driven, filled with punchy verbs. Each chapter ends with a gripper that is often either a surprise, a shock, or a punch line. I loved the dialogue. It is often pithy, humorous, insightful, or haunting. Humor is threaded through this intense battle-driven story that kept me on my toes and delighted me with surprise.
I loved that the main characters grow into their strengths or powers through training, hard work, determination, or difficult circumstances, rather than the overdone pattern of characters inheriting powers that they can instantly wield after being clueless and resistant. The main characters are varied but all are interesting, complex, and honorable.
The expansive world unfolds through the action that follows the story line of several characters who merge about halfway through the novel. Since the core of the story is a family saga, it’s appropriate for a mature, well-read child who loves fantasy adventure. FYI: there are a few swear words, but if your kids have read Harry Potter (which includes them a few times) they’ll be able to handle this story and its level of evil, darkness, and battles.
It’s an intense, thrilling read that drew me into a world where I cared deeply about the outcome of the main characters. I highly anticipate book two.
FYI: the Palimar Saga author website gives detailed information, such as a map of Palimar and a complete glossary of terms. This was helpful to consult while listening to the story.

A True Dark Fantasy
Revisado: 02-16-24
The narrator for this audio was fantastic. His voice was perfect and his characters’ accents were varied but consistent and dramatic. It was captivating to the ears. The author crafted his words, sentences, and paragraphs with accurate skill, accomplishing a high level of coherence and readability. The Omniscient Point of View allows the reader to hear and know many aspects of the story from multiple characters, including their knowledge, thoughts, feelings, actions, and backstory within each chapter. The novel accurately portrays a Dark Fantasy, especially depicted by the characters who are mostly morally gray anti-heroes. So if you love a fantasy setting filled with magic and unique characters with unusual powers where it’s hard to decipher good from evil in a world without a happy ending, then this novel is for you.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Redemption through Tragedy
Revisado: 09-20-22
The narrator is fantastic because she captures each character’s voice with a different delightful British accent. This novel is a most fantastic tale of redemption for Jane and Mr Rochester. Jane grows in sanctification as she perseveres through several undeserved struggles and tragedies. She learns the blessing of forgiveness as she overcomes undeserved treatment. In the end she is given the greatest reward experienced through death and fire.

Historia
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.

Revisado: 09-22-20
Owens’ factual scenarios and historical examples are extremely insightful and persuasive. Her personal narratives and historical data combine to make this an eye opening conclusion that sheds light on many cultural and political phenomena of today. I recommend every one, especially those on the left, read this book.

Profoundly insightful
Revisado: 04-30-20
This book draws incredible insight from history, philosophy, biology, logic, and biblical application in order to discern the current cultural confusion about our bodies. Pearcey not only clarifies the confusion about gender that is infiltrating society, but she also clarifies the larger confusion that has tried to separate our mind from our bodies in actions such as abortion and eating disorders. Furthermore, the author explains the problem of how our culture got to this point and then brilliantly provides the solution by understanding the incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ.
