Historia
Caterer Goldy Bear's wedding day becomes a nightmare when her groom, homicide detective Tom Schulz, calls her from a murder scene and then vanishes. Her only clue to his disappearance is a cryptic note dropped at the scene of the crime. Its biblical references lead her to search for a Judas among her friends in the church congregation.

We know who Tom is
Revisado: 01-19-25
Performance was good, story was good. It did drive me a bit crazy that she kept saying Tom’s full name. As if we would forget who he was. Who would say “Tom Shultz” when talking to friends and family about fiancé? It seemed like the only time she just called him Tom was when she was talking about his stove. I know it’s a stupid, little thing, but for some reason it really bothered me.

I like the back in time/present time jumps
Revisado: 04-11-24
It was interesting and the protagonist wasn’t annoying. When she was doing something stupid she knew it was, but couldn’t think of anything else. Although the detective was described as handsome the writer did not go on about his build, or eyes or whatever every time he was with the protagonist.

Pompous and unsatisfying
Revisado: 02-18-24
Main detective tries to be humble, but comes off as disingenuous, and “above it all”. If you want to try and solve the mystery forget it because something is seen/read by the detective but is kept from the reader. Or even worse the detective knows the wrong man is arrested but can’t prove it till the real culprit is overcome with guilt over an innocent man going to prison and confesses. Just stay away.

Painful writing
Revisado: 01-26-24
If you wanted to write a bodice ripper you should have written a bodice ripper. Talk of the intimate relationship between the cop and the protagonist was her high school crush, and about half a dozen bits of small talk, mainly in high school. The last time they talked he pretty much accused her of getting close to his lonely mother so she would be put in the will. Also you can figure it out a little over 1/2 through. I guess the writer was trying for sexual energy, but it was more like two horny teenagers. I would say the cop was incompetent.
small spoiler *******************************************************************************
There was a new book left at each murder with the description of how the murder scene was staged dogeared and he never thought to read the dogeared page? Took the protagonist pointing it out after the second murder.

The awful accents.
Revisado: 11-18-23
I only made it about two chapters. The southern accent made me grimace, but if I had to keep hearing the painful English one I think my ears may have started to bleed. I feel bad giving the Overall and Story one star because I was unable to listen and maybe they should have more than one, but I doubt it.

The Duffy character is too robotic. And if he only “came into being”, or started going by this name why were there fingerprints matching his under that name 7yrs prior? Gotta give this series a pass.

Painful
Revisado: 06-07-22
Poor writing, continuity, and production. The last chapter of one book was switch with the 2nd to last of another. During one point in a book there is no reading, but you can hear paper shuffled, and chairs moved. In the first two books the aunt has children (living out if state), but from the third book on she is childless. The main character is just silly. Who hugs their bank manager? Ok, maybe if I got a loan with 0.0001% interest, but on the street after meeting them for the third time? No.

Historia
That's what attorney Kevin C. Bryant, 45, told his two young sons in the spring of 2003. At the time, blond, pretty, 26-year-old Tabatha Bryant was alive and well in an upscale suburb of Rochester, New York. But that was about to change - because Bryant knew his wife was cheating, and he intended to end the affair by ending her life. On June 14, 2003, he called 9-1-1 to report Tabatha slain by an unknown intruder who'd shot her in the eye with a .22 and repeatedly stabbed her in the neck and upper body.

Not sure about this author
Revisado: 03-11-20
Pretty straight forward story. Not sure how this author feels about women/sex workers. I know this was done before the term sex worker came into use, but he uses the term whore at least 3 times when talking about prostitutes. He goes into, let’s say, a detailed description of the strip club and it’s performers. So much so I think he spent as much time “researching” that as the rest of the story. Over all not bad, but if you can find a different book on this case I would try that.
