Nice easy quick read. Main character a little flaky but overall good read - no token intimacy or s** scene included-thank goodness! fast-paced action packed. Enjoyed the break from req'd reading.

Wasted time

i believe this was my 3d installment on this series. i will not be reading more. The main character was disappointing again. I saw bits of juvenile behavior from the main character in the last installment but this one really took it to a different level. Why make a main female lead so smart but pedantic, wishy washy, annoying (she actually whines at one point), and insensitive (playing 2 guys off of each other is sooo high school drama). i felt the author needed to stick with the mystery solving & leave the romance to Charlaine Harris, JR Ward or somebody just not here.

Surprisingly interesting, captivating till the end. Great twist at the end, minus the depictions of same sex couplings (inclusions of this type of intimacy seemed unnecessary-as it could've been understand through different writing) and overly detailed erotica, this was a good story.

Could've Been Even Better

This was a well plotted mystery. Little clues to the killer were inserted perfectly. The supernatural component was intriguing. This story could have provided more suspense if less time & effort had been spent on the $exual content. Thankfully, readers can skip those parts 30s at a time!

How does JD Kirk manage to write such great installments in this series?! Each one surpassing the other in creativity, ingenuity, and clever writing! i loved the Hoon character -an abrasive, bad-mouthed, disrespectful, persistent teddy bear! Angus King was ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS as the narrator for this series! i thoroughly enjoyed the way he brought the characters to life, lending to their character arc through the seamlessness of his vocal delivery, bravo!

i HAD to order the rest of this series once i got started because i was reluctantly hooked against my better judgment! i loved the Hoon character -his use of the English language, his abrasiveness, his tenacity, and his total lack of manners and humility -as the unpredictable foil in this story. Well done. Angus King was thoroughly enjoyable, the way he brought the characters to life, lending to their character arc through his vocal delivery that complimented their story-based personality, bravo!

Well done. Characters were authentically consistent through the entire series -which i absorbed in 4 days! Action was fast paced yet unpredictable. And Angus King was ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS as the narrator for this series! Enjoyed every moment.
