Historia
Steve O'Dell loves to write, and does it well. But as an eighth-grade student at Needham Middle School, his talent sometimes seems more an embarrassment than a blessing. Then, on Veterans Day 2001, Steve’s award-winning essay propels him into an adventure twisting through Revolutionary battles and bloodshed. Thanks to the bizarre bequest of a manuscript and a musket ball from a long-lost family war hero, Steve’s journey with the Revolutionary War hero Dr. Joseph Warren begins.

This book is and incredible story about patriotism. I think this is a book that every young person should read. Our younger generation doesn’t know what our forefathers did for this country to make it free. This book is a great explanation as it takes a young person back in time to the revolutionary war. This person sees exactly what happened during that time. It even taught me many things that I need to remember. The story is incredible I would recommend it for anyone to read. I spoke to my husband in regards to it. And both of us read it again. I even joy that more of the second time around. I attended a book review on this by the author Jeffrey J McKenna what passionate he has to teach our young people about patriotism. This was a wonderful experience.

Historia
When George Washington was elected president, he reluctantly left behind his beloved Mount Vernon to serve in Philadelphia, the temporary seat of the nation's capital. In setting up his household, he took Tobias Lear, his celebrated secretary, and eight slaves, including Ona Judge, about which little has been written. As he grew accustomed to Northern ways, there was one change he couldn't get his arms around: Pennsylvania law required enslaved people be set free after six months of residency in the state. Washington decided to circumvent the law.

I really enjoyed this book. I have never studied slavery and this really gave me a clear view of how it was. This should never happen again.
