Historia
On an ordinary Monday morning, Ariel Cafferty's phone buzzes with a disturbing text message. Something’s happened. I need to see you. Meet me under the candelabra tree ASAP. The words would be jarring from anyone, but the sender is the only man she ever loved. And it's been several years since she learned he died. Seeing Drew’s name pop up is heart-stopping. Ariel’s gut says it can’t be real. But she goes to the tree anyway. She has to. Nobody shows.

Repetitive
Revisado: 11-02-24
Maybe I'm being overly cynical, but this book was not it for me. The male protagonist's voice was way too sinister sounding, and did not match his hero vibe. The plot also offered very little in terms of new information. When new information was offered, you had to hear about it from the perspective of countless characters which was painfully repetitive. It did not keep me on my toes.

Gore galore
Revisado: 08-07-24
I consider myself to be someone who has a strong stomach. I can't fall asleep without Dateline on in the background. This book was just next level, and not in a good way. The summary should absolutely give a trigger warning. There was so much gruesome detail that I found myself fast forwarding through half the book. Real shame because the level of gore distracted so much from the plot which could've been great. It felt like the author was trying to be edgy and stand out but ended up committing murder to her storyline.

Painfully repetitive
Revisado: 02-21-24
The storyline and chapters were painfully repetitive. It felt like the author had a page requirement she had to meet but not enough material to fill it. Because of this, there was SO much fluff and filler. Thoughts and ideas were repeated verbatim and I finished each chapter thinking didn't she use this exact same sentence two chapters ago? I debated finishing but stuck with it and do not recommend.

Better reads out there
Revisado: 01-30-24
The storyline was underwhelming. I was waiting for a big plot twist at the end but was left asking myself, "that's it?". Poorly wrapped together.
